Help provide rehabilitation to children with special needs

2.4% of the total population of India is disabled. In Kerala, it is 2.7%. Rehabilitation of children is different than that of adult persons. There are only a limited number of rehabilitation centre for children with challenges. Children with Cerebal Palsy, Autism and Down Syndrome are looked down upon by the conservationist society.

The main objective of Adarsh Charitable Trust is to rehabilitate persons with physical and mental challenges. It has both centre based and community based activities of challenged children. At the centre, challenged children get comprehensive rehabilitation programmes mainly through training, therapy and education. Therapies and training programmes are being given with the help of trained therapists and teachers. In the community, trust has facilities for early identification of developmental disorders in newborn babies. Apart from this, we have another community programme called Home Based Rehabilitation programme where severely challenged children are trained and helped at their homes

Adarsh Charitable Trust was established in 1998. Since then it has been known to be a comprehensive rehabilitation centre for children especially with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down syndrome and Multiple Disability. With our sheer dedication for the cause, we could send 66 children to mainstream school after successful training for further studies. Our programme is unique as children are accompanied with their mothers. The impact is such that not only children from Ernakulam District where Adarsh is located, children from outside Ernakulam District come to Adarsh for training. Help us help more children!
