Suffering too severe to ignore

Rajeev Ranjan understands struggle. Raised in remote villages under severe hardship, he worked his way through school, earned an education, and eventually built a career in Europe. But when he returned home, what he saw shook him: artisans, once proud custodians of tribal art, living in extreme poverty, their crafts devalued, their children dropping out of school, and their skills on the verge of extinction.

“This tribal art form is an integral part of India's cultural heritage. Artisans have preserved these art forms for centuries,” he says. Yet, in today’s fast-paced world, their talents are going unseen, unrecognized—and unpaid.

Disconnected from modern markets and unable to compete with mass production, many artisans have had no choice but to leave their craft behind. “Many of them have left their craft to work as labourers or to collect firewood from the forest,” Rajeev explains.

What we’re losing isn’t just art, it’s identity, tradition, and the voices of communities that shaped India’s heritage. And once these skills are lost, they cannot be revived. This is a crisis not just of income, but of dignity. And it’s one we can still prevent together.

Raw materials, tools, and support to restore hope

Rajeev launched Craft Hub, an initiative of Winner With You, to give artisans a fighting chance. It provides them with skill training, improved product development, raw materials, and—most critically—direct market access.

“Through Craft Hub, we can give them the support, we can give them a direct market link. We can try to teach them to make better products with their art. We can teach them how to brand and market their products.”

This support not only improves the quality of their craft, but also restores their confidence and ability to earn with dignity. With it, artisans can send their children to school, return to their roots, and reclaim their rightful place in the economy.
