Around 20-65 million people in India are victims of human trafficking in one form or another. Most trafficked girls fall prey to commercial sexual exploitation and are highly at risk of contracting the HIV infection. Abandoned by their families and communities, such girls experience violence and oppression for the rest of their lives. They don’t just need to be rescued but also helped with guidance and legal support for successful rehabilitation.
We run a rehabilitation programme where rescued girls are supported until they return to their families or rehabilitate those who don’t belong to a family. We help them recover from their physical as well as psychological wounds with a psychologist’s guidance, while assisting with legal aid. Furthermore, vocational training in simple skills is provided so that once they leave our centre they are able to be self-reliant.
Our programme involves continuous work with rescued victims per the situation and the cases reported. This project takes care of 400 of these victims rescued from different situations and brought to the rehabilitation centre.
A small donation of Rs. 2,890 will help provide rehabilitation facilities to a rescued victim at our centre.
