Training, enterprises, and livelihoods under one roof.
In Ragihalli, a village on the outskirts of Bengaluru, a group of women have been steadily building new livelihoods together.
They grow vegetables through collective farms, prepare foods from traditional grains, and run small enterprises such as the Ragihalli Bakery. For many of them, this is the first time they are earning independently and managing enterprises as a collective.
But there is one challenge.
All this work currently happens in temporary and scattered spaces ; borrowed kitchens, small sheds, and makeshift work areas. Training sessions move from place to place, equipment has to be packed away after every activity, and the women cannot run their enterprises regularly.
What they need now is a shared space of their own.
We are building a community hub where women can gather, learn, and run their enterprises together.
The hub will support:
• Training in farming, food processing, baking, and enterprise management
• Production of local foods and value-added farm products
• Meetings and planning by women’s collectives and farmer groups
• Continued work for local masons, carpenters, and artisans building the hub
When rural women have access to shared infrastructure, they can learn faster, work together more effectively, and build enterprises that last.
A simple, well-designed space allows them to move from small experiments to stable livelihoods, while strengthening the local food system and village economy.
For the women of Ragihalli, this hub will be a place to learn, produce, collaborate, and grow together.
We are raising ₹15,00,000 to complete the Ragihalli Women’s Community Hub.
The funds will help finish the structure and provide the basic infrastructure needed for training and small enterprises. The construction itself is already supporting local artisans and workers in the village.
With your support, this hub will soon become a space where women farmers and entrepreneurs can build their futures together.
This initiative is led by the women’s collective in Ragihalli with support from:
16 Doddi Trust – a grassroots organization working on agroecology and rural livelihoods.
Buffalo Back Consumers Federation (BBCF) – a consumer collective working to build fair, ecological, and community-based food systems.
Your contribution will help complete the Ragihalli Women’s Community Hub , a space that will serve women farmers and entrepreneurs for many years to come.
