WIDOWED Sabina Solomon is ‘Amma’ to 50 children. The kids, some come in as a few months old and upwards, all live with her and are completely dependent on her for their food, clothing, health and education. And for all the love she showers on them. But ever since the Coronavirus, life has been extremely harsh on Sabina and her brood - children orphaned or left in her care. They are unable to make ends meet. It costs kind-hearted Sabina ₹2,350 per child every month, including their food, clothes, education, healthcare and medical needs. When little Grace came to Sabina’s Angels Orphanage, she was only four months old. Today, she is 15 and was going to a Metropolitan CBSE school, receiving the best of education. But due to Covid-19 and draining of funds to sustain themselves, Sabina has had to take Grace out of there and enrol her into a government school. Not just education, Sabina and her 50 kids are fighting hunger as they are unable to ensure two square meals a day for all.
