Story

Vishranthi Trust began caring for abandoned and orphaned children when a few passersby found children abandoned in brick factories, bus stations and railway stations all alone and frightened. The children were suffering from severe malnutrition and anaemia and had not eaten in days. Vishranthi Trust took them in and cared for them by providing safe shelter, nutritious food and support in a family-like environment that would allow them to enjoy their childhoods and grow into healthy young adults.

Many children are abandoned because their families are unable to care for them due to extreme poverty. Destitute families, therefore, decide to abandon their children, not realising that the children are in even greater danger without an adult to care for them. As Vishranthi Trust is known in the area for being a place of refuge and safety for abandoned children, these little ones are often brought to the NGO by the local police or other individuals where they begin their new journey in a safe and secure home.

Vishranthi Trust’s mission

Since 2003, Vishranthi Trust has taken in and cared for over 100 children and helped them overcome the trauma and heartbreak of abandonment by supporting them in a nurturing environment. Some of these include children who have been neglected and those with mild disabilities. Vishranthi Trust is currently taking care of 20 orphaned and abandoned children who have been rescued from destitution and given a healthy and positive environment to live, learn and grow. Your support can help these children have safe shelter, education and a nurturing environment. Donate now.

Need for the fundraiser

Your support is needed to help Vishranthi Trust continue to care for 20 orphaned and abandoned children. Without the home, the children will no longer have the safety, care and support the home provides. “To ensure that we maintain the quality of care for these children, we need your support” shares Sarasa, “please help us and donate.”

Donate to this fundraiser by Give, India’s largest online donation platform, to help Vishranthi Trust give 20 orphaned and abandoned children a safe home and the chance to rebuild their lives and futures.
