Higher education is a real challenge to students from the economically disadvantaged sections of society, specially from rural areas.

Lack of Finance – Families working on meagre or daily wages cannot afford Higher Education.

Dropping out of college to support families, in the absence of education aid for further studies.

Marrying off girls early to reduce the burden on families.

Our economy loses talented individuals - These talented individuals later work and remain as mere labourers working for daily wages, for the rest of their lives.

The National Sample Survey of 2017-18 shows that, about 40% dropouts, the highest number of drop outs happen during or immediately after 9th and 10th std. The study also shows the top three reasons for drop outs, students engaged in economic activities, financial constraints and domestic activities.

Worsening of problem in the pandemic : This problem has however only risen drastically in the pandemic, as many more families were affected either directly or indirectly due to loss of livelihoods.

Lack of income in the families has led, more such students to give up on their education.

Providing Equal opportunities for Education and Development as a Professional

Reviving the economic structure of a family: By providing scholarship to one child, the organization is trying to revive the economic structure of the entire family. Many students have started supporting their own siblings. While many of them who survived on daily wages few years ago, now earn as much as 5 to 6 lakhs per annum.

Making girls independent and delay marriages: Education support helps a girl become more independent in her life and take her own life decisions. It makes her financially and socially more stable.

Giving impetus to talent and boost the economy of the country: students who would otherwise be working on meagre wages, today are working in companies like TCS, Accenture or as professors, village accountants, nurses in good institutes.
