HELP this girl with only Rs.12,000! URGENT APPEAL

Meet Riya Jana, a 22-year-old bright young girl from the Heramba Gopalpur Gram, Patharpratima Thana in the remote South 24 Parganas of West Bengal. Riya came to us with an earnest appeal to help her get employment to save her family from the ongoing crisis caused in Cyclone Yaas, the catastrophic storm that struck the south 24 Parganas of West Bengal at 150 kmph, risking countless lives and livelihoods. It has had a devastating impact on Riya's family leading to loss of livelihoods.

Riya’s father Tapas Jana is a farmer and the only earning member in the family of 7. In a detailed discussion with our representative, Riya has confirmed about their agricultural land being destroyed completely by the cyclone leaving it no room for cultivation for the rest of the year. Since then, the family has solely depended on ration support from benevolent people and NGOs. But she does not know–for how long? She is a higher secondary (Class XII) passed (pictured below her identity details including – Adhaar, shared only after her consent). With zero family income and dependency on donation boxes for food, Riya being the eldest amongst her sibling comes to Anudip to help her get employed.

Anudip with its core area of creating digital careers for youth from disadvantaged families – is trying to help students like Riya by enabling them to get enrolled for a short employability training followed by a stable career.
