In India, thousands of children grow up without the one thing that makes everything else possible: a safe place to belong. No parent. No roof they can call their own. No one to say — you matter, and you can be something.

Aadarana exists for those children.

Who We Are:

Aadarana is a registered charitable society based in Hyderabad, Telangana, founded in 2003 by Sri Jadi Madhava Rao with a single conviction: that a child born into poverty, orphaned by circumstance, or abandoned by the adults who should have cared for them deserves exactly the same opportunities as any other child in India.

What began as a small shelter for a handful of children has grown, over 22 years, into a full residential campus — a home, a school, a library, a computer lab, and most importantly, a family.

Who We Serve

We serve two groups of children who have nowhere else to turn:

Orphaned and destitute children — children with no parental care or guidance. Without intervention, many face the real risk of falling into child labour, exploitation, or homelessness.

Children from extremely poor families — where parents work as daily wage labourers and education is considered a luxury they cannot afford. Girls are often pulled out of school early. Boys drop out to earn a living. Childhood ends before it should.

What We Provide — Free, for Every Child

Every child who comes to Aadarana receives:

🏠 A safe residential home — warm, loving, round-the-clock care on our campus in Saroor Nagar, Hyderabad

📚 Free quality schooling — at Amitabha Aadarana Vidyalaya, our own school on the same campus, from primary through secondary level

🍱 Three nutritious meals, every day — no child at Aadarana goes to bed hungry

🏥 Healthcare — regular medical check-ups, doctors on call, and personal health tracking for every child

💻 Computer literacy, sports, arts, and life skills — because education alone is not enough; we build whole human beings

🛡️ A child rights committee that meets every fortnight — because safety is non-negotiable

Our Impact

Aadarana was founded in 2003 and has been in continuous service for over 22 years. Today, more than 300 children — 200 boys and 100 girls — live under our full-time care on our Hyderabad campus. In addition, we support around 200 day scholars from low-income families in the surrounding community through sponsored education.

Since our founding, over 7,000 children have been transformed through Aadarana's care. Many have gone on to IITs and NITs, joined the Indian Armed Forces, earned professional degrees, and built careers across India and the world. One of our alumni, Srinivas, grew up in one of Telangana's poorest districts and was admitted to IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. Today he works as a mining engineer — and sponsors a child at Aadarana. Another, Sowjanya, became the first Aadarana child to earn an international degree, graduating from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.

These are not exceptions. They are what happens when a child is simply given a chance.

What Does It Cost?

Caring for one child at Aadarana — education, food, shelter, clothing, and healthcare for an entire year — costs ₹50,000. That is just ₹140 per day.

Here is what your contribution does:
