Help us educate and feed 60 children from migrant daily wage families for a year.

Poorer communities are the most vulnerable and the worst affected by Covid19. Hundreds within our communities had lost all their livelihoods during and lockdowns and for long periods of time thereafter too. For construction workers, knife sharpeners, hawkers and many other daily wagers, income generation came to a standstill. As daily wagers, no income meant there was no food. Their children is who we served since 2016 and when the pandemic put a ban on all schools our 3 schools were shut down too. Since then we have started going into the communities and teaching children in the open and when we have enough children we set up a community classroom within their community. These children are often malnourished and don't get a proper balanced diet. Health checkups for children are almost unknown. We have seen cases of children who are clearly suffering from jaundice and were being treated at home with remedies that are nothing but superstitious.

1. Early Childhood Education: We build classrooms within the community and identify and train community teachers.
2. Nutrition: We provide nutritional supplements (milk, eggs, fruit, protein bars, porridge mix) for the children in our preschool program and their siblings (All children). 
3. Child Care: We provide clothes, slippers, blankets and hygiene kits for children.
4. Health Care: We conduct quarterly health camps and support children who need medical treatment.
5. Parent Empowerment: Through a curriculum of weekly video sessions we teach parenting skills and activities that they can do with their children. We follow up with calls and community visits.

1. Children who graduate from our program can easily join a primary school in Bangalore or their village.
2. We regularly check the growth of each child making sure that the nutrition we are providing is beneficial.
3. During winters they are kept warm with blankets and sweaters, and they get hygiene kits through the year. They get toys, footwear, clothes and other items children need.
4. Our health camps help hundreds of families get medical assistance and we provide treatment at no cost to children with special needs.
5. Parents are now more invested in their children's education than ever. They are better equipped to care for their children and understand their children better.
