Help us provide post metric education to stop child marriage

The economic condition of 25000 displaced communities in India is extremely bad. The problem with the backward society is that they consider women nothing less than a liability. As a result, they get them married at the tender age of 14-16. The early motherhood results into still birth, under-weight birth, malnourished children, infant mortality, maternal mortality, family problems, divorce, suicide, etc. They live in hand to mouth situation without proper care to their children, either health or education. Finally, they are forced to engage their children to earning in the age of learning and force them to marry in tender age; the vicious cycle continues.

Janakalyan provides decentralized education institutions at their doorstep where these girls can study from their home. These girls are provided with scholarship and other monetary supports to continue their post metric education so that burden on parents become nil. Life / vocational skills of these girls are also enhanced to ensure they become self-reliant in long run. Parents counselling, Parents Teachers Meeting, Students Counselling, Admission Drives, Regular coaching, special coaching, legal awareness about child marriage/ child labor, etc. are some of the unique activities Janakalyan takes up to address the issue.

All the adverse effects of early child marriage shall be averted by our education program. The marriage age will hopefully increase to 18-21 years. Every year we will be able to benefit 150 students effectively by providing them adequate education. Along with that we will be awarding 150 scholarships every year and we will conduct 30 parent teacher meetings. Now, there future lies in your hands.
