As families move to cities and traditional support systems change, many senior citizens find themselves without the medical attention and loving care they deserve in their later years.At Mother Teresa Foundation, we have been walking alongside senior citizens since 2019 through our Joy Home for the Aged in Thanjavur. We are now building a dedicated Geriatric Care Centre, a fully equipped, barrier-free facility with nursing care, rehabilitation, and 24/7 medical support, designed to give our elders the dignity and comfort they truly deserve.We need your support to make this a reality. The Mother Teresa Foundation which owes its legal allegiance to Mother Teresa Charitable Trust, a registered, non-profit organisation, was established in 2002 to address the development needs of the underprivileged of the country, especially the rural and urban poor. The Trust's strategic objectives have been shaped by the Vision of St. Mother Teresa, the great legend of the 19th century and “Mother” for all humans - Service to Mankind is Service to God. The Mother Teresa Charitable Trust was registered under The Indian Trust Act, 1961 with The District Registrar of Thanjavur under Reg. No. 272/2002, Registered under no.14 u/s 12 AA of the Income Tax act, 1961, Exempted under section 80G(1)(II) of the Income Tax act 1961 (India) and Registered with Ministry of Home Affairs in FCRA, 1976. Our Trust is registered in Niti Aayog with a Unique ID of NGO Darpan No. TN/2018/0182275and is also registered in CSR Portal with registration number CSR00020675 issued by Ministry Of Corporate Affairs Office Of The Registrar Of Companies.  Mother Teresa Foundation carries out various charitable programs in the fields of education, health, community development, care for the elders, differently-abled, Transgender, vulnerable and sick people. These programs are instrumental in transforming the lives of the undeserved for sustainable livelihood irrespective of caste, creed, colour, language and religion. Through its focused efforts, it could reach out to over one million beneficiaries in the last 20 years. Thus the Mother Teresa Foundation has been a catalyst in transforming the lives of the downtrodden and less fortunate people of the country through the following continuous programs :Mother Teresa AnbuIllam (Orphanage): Started in 2002 to house children who are either orphans or semi-orphans. We give them free food, clothing, shelter, quality education and medical support with parental care which has been denied to them from their childhood. It is registered under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015. Total beneficiaries from 2002 to 2021 = 1006 Mother Teresa Community Development Program: Launched in 2005 to provide the vulnerable with necessary supplies and guidance to alleviate their suffering and to lead sustainable livelihood with honour and dignity. The program covers vulnerable individuals and families, differently-abled, visually impaired, elderly sick people, Transgender and the poorest of the poor. Under this program, we provide monthly provisions, monetary assistance, medical care and support for their business ventures. We also undertake the construction of homes for the homeless collaborating with the District Administration. Total beneficiaries from 2005 to 2021 = 3,758 Mother Teresa Scholarship Program: Started in 2010 to provide full scholarships to orphans, semi-orphans, destitute, differently-abled, children of parents who are visually impaired, differently-abled and those suffering from terminal diseases and also economically poor but academically proficient boy and girl students to pursue the school and college education of their choice. We provide school fees, school supplies and uniforms, college fees, stationery, hostel fees, mess fees, transport fees and exam fees as per the individual needs. We cover the majority of the states in India. Total beneficiaries from 2010 to 2021 = 5,841 Mother Teresa Health Center: Established Health Center in 2016 to address the health needs of the people and to make available quality modern medical treatment at affordable cost. Patients are provided treatment with the help of specialists in major fields of Medicine including general medicine, gynaecology, paediatrics, cardiology, and diabetology. In addition, specialists in other fields attend to patients on call to provide timely treatment. The Centre is equipped with Operation Theater, clinical lab with scan facilities, Pharmacy and inpatient ward where services are rendered without eyeing on profit. We regularly organize free rural medical camps and awareness programs. It is a duly registered hospital having registration issued by the Directorate of Medical and Rural Health Services, Government of Tamil Nadu. It is also conferred with NABH Certificate by the Constituent Board of Quality Council of India. It is also credited with the ISO 9001: 2015 certificate. We are offering free treatment for the downtrodden, beneficiaries of AnbuIllam (orphanage), students covered under the scholarship program and their families and vulnerable elders from Mother Teresa Joy Home for the Aged. Free treatment includes free consultation, free laboratory tests and free medicines etc. Establishing ICU facilities in the Health Center would open up facilities for emergency care at affordable cost. Ambulance at our disposal would take care of the emergency needs of the patients and also augment our services for the beneficiaries of the Foundation and the general public as well.Total beneficiaries from 2016 to 2021 = 2,02,720Mother Teresa Joy Home for the Aged: Established a Home for elderly people in 2019 in an international standard with provisions for dormitories and individual rooms. The home has additional amenities such as a yoga and meditation hall, recreation hall, library and dispensary for emergent medical needs. The home is surrounded by a sprawling open area with greenery for fresh air free from pollution. The beneficiaries include those neglected by their children, widows/widowers, divorcees, people with no legal heirs and parents of children who are working in far off places. The occupants are fully taken care of by our dedicated team to help them to lead a healthy, happy and peaceful life with love, care and compassion as expected from their own children. It is duly registered under Section 12(3) of the Parents and Senior Citizen Care Act 2007. It is also credited with the ISO 9001: 2015 certificate.Total beneficiaries from 2019 to 2021 = 59 Mother Teresa Amudha Surabhi Free Meal Program: The outbreak of the cruel coronavirus pandemic is in its complete sense created a huge impact on the life of the poor. During this crucial period, many poor people suffered for want of food. Sensing the plight of these people Mother Teresa Foundation launched the Mother Teresa Amudha Surabhi Free Meal Program in April 2020 to provide free meals to them. We cater to the needs of such people in Thanjavur Medical College Hospital and other vantage locations in Thanjavur.The beneficiaries include abandoned, elderly sick people, street dwellers, hawkers, seasonal wage earners in unorganized sectors, migrant labourers, attendees of the poor inpatients and outpatients treated in government hospitals and the starving general public. It is a continuous project in which we provide different types of variety rice cooked and packed in hygienic condition every day covering over 600 people in the process. It is also registered under the FSS Act, 2006 issued by the Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI).And so far we have touched the lives of 1 million beneficiaries. And with god's grace, wish to continue doing this for many more generations to come.
