Working in 40°C heat. No option to stop.
Every day in Mumbai, thousands of workers—delivery riders, rickshaw drivers, construction labourers, hawkers—continue working under extreme heat.
They don’t have the option to take a break.
They don’t have access to quick medical care.
And when heat stress hits, they often ignore it—until it becomes serious.
Starting Labour Day 2026, we are setting up a Free Medical Camp for Heat Affected Workers at Kannamwar Nagar (Rickshaw Stand).
This is a temporary roadside clinic operating during peak heat hours:
Everyday | 10 AM – 5 PM
Workers can walk in directly while on the job and receive immediate care.
Heat stress is not just discomfort—it can lead to:
A simple, timely intervention can prevent serious illness—and save lives.
It costs us ₹1,50,000 per month to run this camp, covering:
👉 Just ₹100 can provide hydration support to one worker
👉 ₹3,500+ helps sustain the camp for an entire day
This is our first camp in Kannamwar Nagar.
With your support, we aim to expand to other high-density worker areas across Mumbai—reaching those who need it most.
This initiative is led by:
Bombay Sarvodaya Friendship Centre
in collaboration with Helping Hands Charitable Trust and workers’ unions.
We have been working closely with informal workers and underserved communities, focusing on accessible healthcare and dignity of labour.
They deliver your food.
They build your homes.
They drive you through the city.
This summer, let’s make sure they don’t collapse while doing it.
👉 Donate now. Help us keep this camp running.
What began as an emergency response to the ongoing heatwave is now turning into a vital support system for hundreds of workers exposed to extreme heat conditions every day.
Over the past 15 days, our camp has been treating more than 60 workers daily which means we have already attended to an estimated 1000+ workers so far.
Many workers arriving at the camp are suffering from dehydration, weakness, dizziness, low blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, fever, and heat exhaustion due to continuous exposure while working outdoors. Several workers have required IV drips and urgent medical attention.
The camp is serving construction workers, delivery workers, domestic workers, auto and taxi drivers, factory workers, hawkers, and many others from Mumbai’s informal workforce. For many of them, this free-of-cost medical support has become a major relief during the severe summer heat.
Your support has directly helped us provide:
• Free medical consultations
• IV drips and essential medicines
• Rehydration drinks and ORS kits
• Outreach to workers unable to leave their work sites
• A safe resting and care space for heat-affected workers
The initiative has now also started receiving media attention, helping bring wider public focus to the growing health crisis faced by workers during heatwaves.

We are deeply grateful to every donor, volunteer, union, doctor, and community member who has stood with this effort. Your contribution is not just supporting a camp but also helping workers continue their livelihoods with dignity, care, and protection during extreme conditions.
As temperatures continue to rise, the need for medicines, IV fluids, rehydration supplies, and medical support is also increasing. We request you to continue supporting and sharing this campaign so we can reach many more workers in the coming weeks.
