Four incredible young adults from Maher Ashram, Pune, India have been awarded scholarships to pursue a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts at Dharma Realm Buddhist University (DRBU) in California, USA—an opportunity that could change their lives forever.  

While their tuition is covered, they need our support to make this dream a reality.  

Why This Matters  

Maher (meaning Mother’s Home in Marathi) is a UN-recognized NGO that has provided love, healing, and education to thousands of women, children, and men affected by homelessness, trauma, and poverty. Founded by Sister Lucy, Maher is rooted in the belief that everyone—regardless of gender, caste, creed, or religion—deserves a fair chance at a dignified life.

With 59 homes across 6 Indian states, Maher has empowered:  

✅ 5,900+ children

✅ 5,000+ women 

✅ 300+ men 

Many of those who cannot reunite with their families find a lifelong community at Maher, where they receive education, vocational training, and emotional support to become self-sufficient.

Though these students have secured full tuition scholarships, they still need financial assistance for:  

✈️ Annual travel between India and the U.S.

🏡 Housing and accommodations

🍎 Food, transport, and daily essentials
