Story

Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD): Autism spectrum disorders manifest in a number of ways, from problems with behaviour and communication to developmental and cognitive disabilities.

Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD): The main difficulty of children with attention deficit hyperactive disorder is, of course, focusing their attention on the task they are supposed to be performing because every stimulus is of equal weight for them. They find themselves focusing on what the teacher is saying, but also on what other children are saying, or on noises from outside. Children with attention deficit disorder tend to work in a very hasty way, without paying attention to details or to the quality of their work. As a result of the gap between children’s high level of capability and the results that they achieve in practice, they often feel a sense of frustration, and even guilt. One of the difficulties frequently reported by parents is in connection with getting their children ready in the morning, arranging their school bags, and leaving the house. Each of these is a complex task requiring planning and working according to a sequence.

Hydrotherapy is an effective intervention with proven benefits for children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), ADHD(Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder). Hydrotherapy can be a part of the basket of treatment received by the child, aimed at improving the way the child functions in all areas of life – social, emotional, school, and so on.

Autism Spectrum Disorder: Common treatment for children with autism spectrum disorders is aquatic therapy or hydrotherapy. These therapies use water immersion to achieve therapeutic gains that may be too difficult for a child to attain through land-based physical therapies. It gives a platform for social interaction especially for autistic children thereby facilitating language development, improved self-esteem, self-awareness and a sense of achievement.

Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder: During the treatment, we work with the children on choosing a task and focusing on it, reducing the importance of other stimuli. This water activity is a wonderful opportunity to experience a feeling of success. For this purpose, it is important for the tasks during the treatment to be challenging, but achievable by the child – in other words, something that can be achieved with an effort, but not so much effort as to lead to frustration.

Hydrotherapy will help children with learning disabilities to improve their concentration, body balance, muscle strength, endurance and fitness. It will help in curbing impulsivity. This therapy will go hand-in-hand with the other therapies such as speech therapy and occupation therapy offered at our campus. Hydrotherapy provides multi-sensory stimuli through water temperature and buoyancy. Hydrotherapy is intended to improve the functioning of children under ASD and with ADHD in all fields of life. The treatment is given by qualified therapists, in a heated pool designed especially for hydrotherapy.

Students of Alpha to Omega, who come under the Autism Spectrum Disorder, and ADHD will be given Hydrotherapy. The parents of these children will see a remarkable improvement in their overall development. Professionals in this field will gain hands on experience to customize their therapy based on the need of the student. Eventually our services will extend to children with special needs

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): Facilitates social interaction, language development, improves self-esteem, self-awareness and a sense of achievement.

Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder: During treatment, we take advantage of the strong sensory feedback provided by the water in order to encourage the children's self-control over their movements. We also define exactly what is success in the task, and what is required in order to achieve it, so as to encourage good work habits that include, among other things, self-supervision, attention to details, checking, and giving self-feedback with regard to the quality of implementation.
