Help me support a cause close to my heart

SOHAM Trust is primarily working with a mission to provide health care to the needy and poor communities focusing mainly on elderly beggars. Trust is also working to achieve the physical, mental, and economic sustainability of beggars. Our main objective is to make these beggars entrepreneurs and citizens of India. All this work is done with the help of donations we receive. Following the work we are doing and continue the same with the funds received from Give India1. Beggars to Entrepreneurs:  While providing medical services on the road, we try to identify the potential/skills of the person and based on this, we convince and counsel them to start small-scale jobs. To date, 200 beggars have left begging and started small-scale businesses / various jobs. In short, beggars have started becoming entrepreneurs!2. Medical help to people lying on the road helplessly -v Hospitalisation - Giving medical help to the people lying on the roadside by hospitalizing them in reputed hospitals. More than 360 people were admitted during this year. This includes cases of accident/cancer/ orthopedic/ Gynaec and so on. Upon treatment offered to start small-scale businesses to them. v Eye Check-up / Operation - This year we completed 1500 cataract operations. Nearly 300 elderly beggars have been given glasses after eye examination. If the person is unable to see, it is the major barrier to starting self-employment, also due to this disability they get into accidents or die while crossing the road...! Hence we are trying to save accidents/deaths and giving chance to make them sustainable with this initiative. v Hearing check-up / Machine – Hearing loss is another major barrier to self-employment as well as a reason of accidents. Hence we are regularly doing audiometry in reputed clinics and giving them hearing machines that have lost the capacity of hearing. This again opens a path towards self-employment as well as sustainability. Given high-quality audio machines to 3 elderly beggars.3. Annapurna Through the Annapurna project, we are delivering a food box to all the poor destitute patients who are undergoing treatment in the hospital, and who have no relatives, or no one in their life to bring them a food box. Apart from this, we are also giving tiffins to the elderly people who are lying on the streets. We are daily feeding approx. 100 poor people. We are buying these tiffins from a disabled beggar's family, who were earlier begging, so as to give financial support to the disabled family. 4. Education:The trust has taken educational responsibility for 52 Children under our cover. They are given all the help they need to get an education and stop begging. The Children in this group include kids studying in the primary to even those studying for graduation like B.Com. four success storiesOne girl is doing BCom, aspiring to become a collector, the second boy is doing third yr Computer Science, the third girl is doing Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and the fourth boy wants to become a Police Sub Inspector. We are paying for their training.5. COMMUNITY CLEANLINESS TEAM)Teams of 100 elder beggars were formed. The trust organizes cleanliness drives in public places through these teams. The trust gives remuneration to these people. This helps them get a dignified way of work. Also elaborates on the importance of cleanliness in personal and public places. It’s a Win-Win situation….We are providing either honorarium or grocery to this team as compensation… Overall we are trying to do things to make the beggars live with dignity and as citizens of India.
