A Dream Should Never End Because of Poverty 

Imagine a young boy from a remote village in Odisha.

Every morning, he wakes up before sunrise, helps his parents in the fields, and then studies from worn-out books under a dim light. Deep inside, he carries a dream—to wear the uniform of the Indian Armed Forces, secure a government job, serve his nation, and lift his family out of poverty.

Now imagine a young girl who has the intelligence, determination, and discipline to succeed, but whose family struggles to afford even basic necessities. For her, competitive coaching, study materials, safe accommodation, nutritious food, and examination fees seem impossibly out of reach.

Their stories are different, but their challenge is the same. 

Poverty often destroys dreams long before talent gets a chance to shine.

At Odisha Juba Prashikshyan Trust (OJPT), we believe that no dream should be abandoned simply because someone was born into difficult circumstances. 

That belief led us to create Odisha’s first completely free training ecosystem for underprivileged youth aspiring to join Government Services and Uniformed Forces.

We do not simply provide coaching.

We remove every barrier standing between a deserving student and success. 

Through OJPT, students receive: 

• Free academic coaching for competitive examinations

• Physical training for uniformed services

• Safe residential accommodation

• Nutritious meals

• Career counselling and mentorship

• Continuous examination guidance and support

 Everything is provided free of cost for deserving youth from economically weaker backgrounds.

 The impact has been life-changing.

 Across more than 12 districts of Odisha, OJPT has reached over 10,000 young people through awareness programmes, career guidance initiatives, and training interventions.

 When opportunity meets determination, extraordinary things happen.

 Today:

 • 26 candidates have successfully become Commissioned Officers in the Indian Armed Forces.

• 194 candidates have been selected under the Agniveer Scheme.

• 28 candidates have joined paramilitary forces and state uniformed services.

• 45 candidates have secured Group C and Group D Government jobs. 

Behind every number is a family whose future has changed forever.

 A mother who no longer worries about her child’s future.

 A father who finally sees his years of struggle rewarded.

 A young person who now stands with dignity, purpose, and financial independence.

 But our mission goes far beyond government jobs.

True empowerment means creating opportunities for every individual to live with dignity.

Across Odisha, countless women possess incredible talents in painting, stitching, handicrafts, baking, embroidery, and traditional art forms. Yet many are forced to abandon these skills because they lack access to markets, training, resources, and opportunities.

 OJPT is helping such women reclaim their confidence and livelihoods.

 Through structured skill-development programmes, we provide:

 • Training and mentorship

• Raw materials and infrastructure support

• Market linkage opportunities

• Product development guidance

• Entrepreneurial skill enhancement

 While women empowerment remains a key focus area, our skill development initiatives are open to all deserving individuals regardless of gender, helping them build sustainable livelihoods and become economically independent.

 Our commitment to social transformation extends even further.

 When summer temperatures become unbearable, our volunteers distribute drinking water to those in need.

 When elderly residents in old-age homes require support, we provide essential supplies, clothing, and care.

 From blood donation drives and medical camps to anti-drug awareness campaigns and large-scale social awareness cyclothons spanning more than 1,000 kilometres across Odisha, OJPT continuously works to create responsible citizens and stronger communities.

 We also envision a future where:

 • Every district of Odisha has access to quality training facilities.

• More youth can prepare for competitive examinations regardless of financial background.

• More women become financially independent.

• Orphaned and vulnerable children receive guidance and opportunities.

• Senior citizens receive care and dignity.

• Communities become greener through environmental initiatives, plantation drives, and sustainability programmes.

 But we cannot do this alone.
