Sponsor education of children through school transformation

As many as 97% of the graduating engineers seek jobs either in software engineering or core engineering. However, only 3% have the skills and only 7% can handle core engineering tasks. The major challenges are outdated curriculum, lack of quality teachers, lack of skill-based education, lack of English language skills and the growing disregard for essential soft skills.

It is evident that we need to invest in a child’s holistic development (mental, physical, intellectual and emotional). Bhumi’s Ignite Programme at Schools provides comprehensive quality education by making the classroom a collaborative, peer-supported, fearless environment for children to foster in. While the capacity of the school and its teachers is built through personality development workshops, the children’s social emotional skills are developed by imparting life skills such as self-esteem, mindfulness, empathy, managing relationships, and handling conflicts. Every classroom is also given additional manpower support, leveraging technology to provide children access to individualized content. As the programme progresses, the children will be encouraged to identify and design solutions to challenges faced by their community, hence making them the changemakers of tomorrow.

Our approach is whole school transformation, and we partner with teachers, HMs, and parents for children’s overall development. We have grown from working with over 3,000 children last year to over 5,000 children this year.

One of the key focus areas of the program is improving foundational literacy and numeracy skills of children who study in grades 2-4 at government and low-income schools.

We believe that a conducive learning atmosphere is essential to build a child’s knowledge, self-esteem, confidence, and leadership – qualities that will mold these children to be responsible and liberated citizens in the future.
