Story

We don't need an introduction to our Indian education system. Students in public institutions are much below their grade level learning. A recent study conducted by Azim Premji University showed that 92% of students on average have lost at least one specific language ability over the last year and 82% of students on average have lost at least one mathematics ability over the last year. They also lack the future-ready skills needed to survive in the 21st Century. Currently, the entire dependency of learning is on teachers. However, India has a shortage of 1 million teachers and over 80% of our teachers already feel overburdened

So we need to think about solutions that can improve ownership among students and create student-driven ecosystems.

What if these few teachers majorly teach the senior grade students, who in turn teach four of their juniors each? Won't it make students more responsible and help them grow? This Peer Teaching approach compounds the teacher's effect almost 5 times. Such a school system focused on student-driven learning is the need of the hour!

Involve has been bringing a change for the last 5 years making this concept a reality. . We have partnered with govt and low-income schools and developed a Peer Teaching model that is practical and can be implemented easily. We train the senior students, or student leaders, who then teach their juniors, a.k.a. learners.

Encouraged by the impact the program created for our students, we are trying to scale the program to different geographies through partner organizations.

At Involve, we hope to spearhead a revolution in education, open to sharing and collaboration, where students all over India, and perhaps beyond, are equipped with important future-ready skills and are able to learn independently.

We have worked with 20000+ students in the last 5 years and have seen 39% of avg improvement in academics and 80% improvement in future-ready skills.

We are now scaling the concept through partner organizations and are working with 600 students in tribal areas. We plan to reach around 7500 students in the next 2 years by building an eco-system of students supporting each other and learning collaboratively.
