UPDATE

Thank you for your generosity and incredible support for this fundraiser!

Our campaign started with relief work in Mumbai, and funds raised over the course of Phase 1 will continue to serve communities hit hardest by the lockdown in the city.

However, in the light of heightened demand from across the country, we have expanded our reach. Through Phase 2, we hope to reach thousands of Indians who face the prospect of going to bed hungry.

THE PROBLEM

India has been hit with the most aggressive surge of COVID-19 cases. Today, almost the entire country is under lockdown. We need to step up once again to protect our most marginalised communities.

As the pandemic rages across our country, thousands of Indians are at risk of losing their jobs and livelihoods. Daily wage labourers, sex workers, transgender persons, and other vulnerable sections of society need urgent relief.

OUR SOLUTION

Youth Feed India and Helping Hands Charitable Trust, in collaboration with several incredible grassroots organisations, have vouched to #FeedIndia2021 and support marginalised communities — daily wage workers, single mothers, sex workers, transgender persons, homeless children and other vulnerable sections of society — that need urgent food relief to ensure that no Indian goes hungry.

A portion of this fund raiser is being deployed to #FuelTheFrontliner. This initiative is supplying dry fruits packs, juices and energy bars for nurses, ward boys, house keeping staff, and crematorium and graveyard workers who have had no rest as they brave the most challenging work environments to ensure that we can fight back against COVID-19.

Our supply chains and relief delivery process has been appreciated across the board. We aim to create and deliver 20,000 emergency ration kits to those who do not have ration cards or cannot access government benefits. Each kit costs Rs. 1000 and contains essential supplies ( (aata, daal, rice, oil, salt, and sugar) that can feed a family of 4 for 15 days. The generosity of everyone who has donated has helped us deliver 2,822 emergency ration kits to 11,288 people across Mumbai and beyond already.

THE IMPACT

Youth Feed India and Helping Hands will focus on those hardest hit by COVID-19 and associated lockdowns. This includes those who are immunocompromised and at greater risk of falling ill, including HIV positive patients, the elderly and disadvantaged women. This also includes groups that rarely receive government support, including sex workers and members of the transgender community.

Youth Feed India and Helping Hands Charitable Trust, in collaboration with several incredible grassroots organisations, delivered more than 20,000 ration kits across the city last -- ensuring that more than 1,50,000 individuals received emergency food supplies during this crisis.

We hope that each one of us will step up once again to help India's most vulnerable together.

ABOUT YOUTH FEED INDIA
