Imagine being a 16 year old student from a Tier 2/3 school, standing at a crossroads, and being asked to choose a path for the rest of your life, without knowing where any of those roads lead. This is the reality for millions of high school students in India. With limited exposure to modern-day careers, many choose professions based on outdated stereotypes, parental expectations, or fleeting inspirations. This has led to a generation of youngsters with no tangible skill set and greater than 50% unemployment rate.

We, at The Hopes Foundation, are determined to change this narrative.

Why Does This Matter?

93% of Indian students know only 7 career options, while the world offers thousands. This lack of awareness has created a ripple effect of unemployability, misaligned skills, and missed potential.

By conducting career exploration workshops in schools across cities, we want to help students explore possibilities they never imagined. From tech, healthcare, journalism, engineering, finance, to creative arts, we are empowering them to make informed choices for their future.

The Impact?

For a student like Priya, who thought the only option was becoming a doctor because her parents said so, our workshop revealed a love for storytelling. She’s now exploring journalism. For Arjun, who dreamed of being a software engineer but struggled with coding, we introduced biostatistics as a career that combines his love for healthcare and computer science.
