ISBAA AMRO Alumni Memorial Fund

Amro, is derived from Gurmukhi and means both “mine” and “life”. Nothing befits the initiative more we feel, for this is an endeavour for all those who are “ours” today and for life. The core take-away from ISB has always been the feeling of fraternity and family and hence, the worst times that we are facing today, only makes us reinstate that belief as a community. 

The pandemic has hit hard across the globe and our community at ISB has not been spared. We pray for all those who have lost their near ones and those who are battling it out. Words often fall short in such moments and do not do justice, hence we refrain from more. 

The pandemic has also brought forth some harsh realities. The first wave in 2020, made us witness the series of furloughs and professional setbacks. Just when we geared up to take on again the second wave hit us. While we are confident that we shall regain all those missed professional milestones, what guts us is those alumni whom the virus did not spare. 

Almost every batch has horror stories where lives, and families have not been spared. What is also true is that such losses have also had a severe impact on the overall sustenance of the family. While we remain there as ISB’ians beside each of those families in spirit and hope that they find resiliency and courage to march forward, we also acknowledge the financial hardships that these times have come their way.

This is why ISBAA – Amro was born. To help each of those who have lost their own, regain their life back in whatever way we can. The funds will go to support the families of those we have lost and may also support the charitable causes that were dear to the departed alums so that their legacy lives on.
