Story

SNEHA (Society for Nutrition Education and Health Action) invites the Cipla family across India to join hands with us to support the Anganwadi Adoption Project in the vulnerable settlements of Mankhurd, Govandi and Chembur. We are reaching out to you with an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children and families living in the M Ward of Mumbai.

For further details about the NGO and the project, please see below.

About SNEHA:

SNEHA is a non-profit organisation that works with women, children and families in communities; and with public health and safety systems. Our innovative work in vulnerable settlements aims to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality and morbidity, child malnutrition, reduce adolescent anaemia and gender-based violence - all key determinants of health equity for the family and the community at large.

 About the project:

SNEHA is excited to announce our partnership with the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) for the ‘Adopt an Anganwadi’ initiative in Mumbai’s M Ward, which encompasses areas like Mankhurd, Govandi, Deonar and Chembur. Through this initiative, we aim to collaborate with 817 Government Anganwadi Centers and their frontline workers, including Sevikas, helpers, Supervisors, and the Child Development Program officer (CDPO) from the ICDS projects. The project is designed to enhance the capacity of the ICDS centers and staff to strengthen the quality and delivery of Nutrition services to vulnerable populations.

Our project objectives include:

1.   Building capacities of ICDS staff through training and skill development.

2.  Providing infrastructure and educational support to Anganwadi Centers.

3.  Implementing monitoring, evaluation, and supportive supervision mechanisms to ensure effective delivery of services.

As part of our efforts to provide infrastructure and educational support, we are reaching out to compassionate organizations like Cipla to join us in this noble cause. We appeal to the employees of Cipla to consider donating infrastructure materials and support our mission.

By contributing to this cause, you will be directly impacting the lives of children and families in need. Your support will enable us to create a conducive environment for learning and development in Anganwadi Centers, ultimately leading to improved nutrition services and better outcomes for the community.

We believe that together, we can make a difference. Your generosity and compassion can help us achieve our goal of creating a brighter future for the children of M Ward, Mumbai.
