Hello,
My name is Rahul Kumar, and I am an India Fellow working in Swasthya Swaraj in Kalahandi, Odisha, a district that is all too frequently viewed on the periphery in terms of development, yet it is teeming with promise, potentiality, and knowledge as has been illustrated ever so poignantly by my fellow colleagues.
Over the last 10 months, I have been in the trenches of education and health in remote tribal villages, where I teach children who are first-generation learners, health awareness to families, and trust where there is limited access to and availability of resources.
There has been a transformative experience of this fellowship. It has also taught me that true change does not happen on the outside- it develops when we listen, learn, and live in the same communities that we want to serve.
Now that I was ready, really ready, for the next big thing in this journey: The Travel Workshop.
What is the Travel Workshop?
It’s a two-week nationwide learning expedition where I, along with other fellows, will visit inspiring grassroots organizations across India. We will:
· Learn from diverse development models
· Reflect on our own work from fresh perspectives
· Take new ideas and new vitality back into our communities
It is not only a visit, but the vital investment in our becoming ethical, empathetic, and effective leaders.
However, the catch is that this trip is financed by its own means. It covers everything, starting at travelling up to accommodations, food, logistics, all which look up to the fellows themselves.
This is why I require your help. My Goal: 2,00,000
The funding of this learning will be direct through your contribution. And to aid in this, you will not only be supporting me, but will also be investing in the communities which I will be serving, well into the future
What your support enables:
· Exposure to innovative solutions from other regions
· Skills and tools I can adapt for my work in Odisha
· A chance to build a stronger, more informed, and grounded leadership approach
Why This Matters
The impact of this journey doesn’t end with me. It travels back to the tribal classrooms of Kalahandi. It shapes the way I design local education solutions. It amplifies the voice of unheard communities. Your support becomes part of a bigger story of change.
The receipt of all donations is 100 percent tax exempt under the section of 80G.
A little, or just sharing this with a caring person, can help a lot.
Thank you,
