Join Pooja Mehra to nurture specially-abled children, transforming their potential into a brighter future

"Every child, no matter their abilities, deserves to shine. They need our support, love, and opportunities to reach their true potential," says Pooja Mehra founder of Sports for Unique Athletes (S4UA).  

For Pooja Mehra, sports were a lifelong sanctuary, teaching discipline and camaraderie. Her family shared this passion, especially her daughter, a dedicated track-and-field athlete.

When Pooja’s mother was diagnosed with dementia, the emotional toll was immense. Despite finding no cure, Pooja discovered hope in her belief that sports could bring joy and resilience—not just for her, but for others.

Witnessing the lack of opportunities for children with disabilities, she founded S4UA, an NGO devoted to empowering specially-abled children through sports, ensuring every child can thrive on the field and beyond.

At S4UA, we work tirelessly to nurture and empower specially-abled children, celebrating their individuality and helping them thrive. Whether it's through inclusive education, skill-building workshops, or community engagement, S4UA is transforming the way society views and supports children with unique needs.  

How It Began 

S4UA's journey started with a small, powerful dream—to create a world where specially-abled children could lead fulfilling lives and inspire others with their resilience and creativity. What began as a local initiative by a group of passionate volunteers has now grown into a thriving NGO reaching hundreds of children and their families.  

We saw firsthand the barriers these children face—stigma, lack of resources, and limited opportunities. But we also saw their boundless potential. With that vision in mind, S4UA created programs that provide therapy, education, and a platform to showcase their talents.  

Making an Impact

Through projects like inclusive art workshops, therapy sessions, and sports events, S4UA fosters growth, confidence, and happiness in the children we serve. Parents have told us how their children have blossomed—learning to express themselves, making friends, and finding joy in activities once thought impossible.
