India ranks 127th out of 146 countries in terms of gender parity. Economic participation and opportunities for women stand lowest among all the countries, at 36.7%.[1] At the current rate of progress, it will take us 131 years to reach full parity worldwide.[2]

Gender at Work India Trust (G@WI) is committed to bridging the gender gap. G@WI uses an intersectional feminist approach to building institutional architectures for gender equality within workspaces in India. Our approach is guided by voices from the margins which enable us to capture a range of perspectives into our understanding. Through our work, we unfold institutional systems and structures to facilitate greater contributions toward gender equality within workspaces.

Since 2019, the pipeline of women leaders in India has gotten smaller (8% for executive boards and 10% for C-suites globally; 9% for executive boards and 12% for C-suites in India). [2]
