Story

A Call to Action for a Greener Future

The Bundi Green Project is an ambitious environmental campaign with the mission to plant 100,000 native trees in Bundi. Under the leadership of the Prem Samriddhi Foundation (PSF) and Samriddhi Mahila Crop Producer Company , this initiative aims to transform barren landscapes into lush havens of biodiversity. This project, "EK Podha Guru Ji Ke Nam," is not just about reforestation but a holistic approach to ecosystem restoration, celebrating the Guru Shishya Parampara.

The Environmental Crisis

Rising Temperatures and Climate Change: Bundi is experiencing severe heatwaves due to rising temperatures, making the local climate harsh and unlivable. This heat increase affects human health, agriculture, and the overall quality of life.

Loss of Biodiversity: The region's native flora and fauna are disappearing at an alarming rate. Habitat destruction and climate change are leading to the extinction of many species, disrupting the local ecosystem and food chains.

Soil Degradation: Intensive agricultural practices and deforestation have led to severe soil erosion and degradation. This loss of soil fertility affects crop yields and threatens food security for the local population.

Water Crisis: Our rivers are drying up, and talabs (ponds) are disappearing. The water shortage is severe, with groundwater levels plummeting and water quality deteriorating. This water crisis impacts agriculture, drinking water supply, and the overall health of the community.

Our Vision and Approach

With your support, PSF aims to address these environmental issues by planting 100,000 native trees in Bundi. In 2023, we successfully planted 6,250 trees with a remarkable survival rate. This year, we are scaling up our efforts, using the Miyawaki principle for dense, fast-growing forests. PSF will maintain these plants for three years, ensuring their healthy growth and sustainability. We will also share the update to donor about the progress of Individual plant and plantation sites.

Patch Plantation -Vidhya Van:

  • Cost: INR 500 per plant
  • Method: Dense, close planting on common land following the Miyawaki principle to create a thriving, self-sustaining forest.

Roadside Plantation:

  • Cost: INR 2,500 per plant
  • Method: Strategic planting along roadsides to provide shade, reduce pollution, and enhance the visual appeal of our roads.
