Story

My name is Rohit Sharma, Founder & President of Shri Rohit Sharma Charitable Trust (SRSCT). On 25 May 2023, while I was in Jaipur to appear for the UPSC examination, I witnessed a scene that transformed my life. At the railway station, I saw young children picking garbage to survive. In that moment, I realised that poverty had forced them to choose survival over schooling. I made a firm decision that day: I would work to ensure that children hold books in their hands, not waste.

With this resolve, I established the Shri Rohit Sharma Charitable Trust on 18 September 2023 in Kota, Rajasthan, registered under the Rajasthan Public Trust Act, 1959. The Trust is committed to uplifting underprivileged, rural, and marginalised communities through focused efforts in education, healthcare, women's empowerment, skill development, disaster relief, and community development. At the heart of our mission lies one belief: education is the foundation of lasting change.

Today, we are concentrating our efforts on children studying in government schools who come from economically weaker backgrounds. Many of these students are bright and ambitious, yet they struggle due to lack of basic school supplies, proper uniforms, access to digital learning, and adequate academic guidance. Poor infrastructure and limited resources continue to restrict their potential. The challenge is not capability — it is opportunity

To address this urgent need, we have launched a fundraising campaign. The funds will be utilised to provide complete school kits with books, stationery, and bags; ensure uniforms and essential learning materials for every child; introduce digital learning tools and smart classroom support; strengthen school infrastructure; and implement student welfare and structured academic support programmes. Our aim is to create an environment where children can learn with dignity, confidence, and equal access to opportunity.

This initiative is more than financial support; it is an investment in the future of children who deserve a fair chance to succeed. When we support a child’s education, we empower a family, strengthen a community, and contribute to building a more self-reliant nation.

I humbly invite individuals, philanthropists, corporate leaders, and CSR partners to join us in this mission. Your contribution – no matter the size – can change a child’s life forever. Together, let us replace hardship with hope and create a future where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve their dreams.
