Diversity especially gender diversity has created a buzz in corporate sector. However, the companies are challenged when it comes to getting a pool of qualified women to select from. The companies are spending time, effort and money to train recruits, who have graduated from professional degree programs, to better equip them for their roles. Further up-skilling is required as the employees move from one level to another.

As per the findings 50% women are employed globally out of which only 25% in senior leadership role. In India, 40% of the women are unemployed and only 17% are in leader ship roles. This is more so with girls coming from low income social strata, who despite attaining a professional degree are unable to get quality jobs. They lack relevant exposure, skills and role models in their community to help them navigate the complexities of a corporate life and break the glass ceiling.

Katayst aims to address these challenges by preparing women in professional education so that they have the knowledge, skills and attitude to get better job opportunities and also move up the career ladder. Economic status has no bearing on the potential of these young women, what they need are opportunities and exposure. Hence, in addition to skill gap Katalyst aims to bridge the socio-economic gap to create level playing field so that these young women can aspire and excel to become transformational leaders.
