amongst its population; 224.3 million persons who are undernourished* and more at a risk of

We all see hunger and poverty around us and share a desire to make a difference.

Kathir Dhan responds to hunger and malnutrition, rampant yet hidden from public view, in

Chennai city. It is a bridge between those in need and those who wish to help. This initiative

saves lives and dignity. We distribute high quality, nutritious meals produced at our kitchen

in Chennai. Kathir Dhan is an integral part of ECO Kitchen, a unit of YR Gaitonde Medical,

Educational and Research Foundation.

Over the years we have come to know those who are hungry and will most benefit from food

donation: children, women, elderly, and the differently abled who live in institutions and the

poorer communities of Chennai that greatly value your support. Kathir Dhan assists you to

help others. The scale of operation in our kitchen helps to keep the costs low and

stretches the reach of one’s contribution.
