Let's provide Educational and Healthcare support to children from vulnerable background

Background:

Vardhishnu – Social Research & Development Society is a Jalgaon based not-for-profit trying to create an eco-system of learning and support for children from vulnerable backgrounds. Currently we are running 4 community leaning centers, called as ‘Anandghar’ in Jalgaon & Chopda. These centers provide formal and informal education to children from vulnerable backgrounds specially child waste pickers, child labors. Currently 250+ children are these centers regularly. We work on nurturing reading & writing comprehension, inculcating age-appropriate life-skills, health & physical wel-being with an intention to take children out of the clutches of child labor and enroll and sustain them in schools.

Need of the nutritional supplements:

Every child deserves healthy food for nourishment. But the children with whom we work live lives in very adverse conditions. They are not fortunate enough to get healthy food regularly. Undernourishment is the most common factor. With average haemoglobin ranging between 9.5 to 10.5 children are always at risk of getting various infections. Many times, they also rely on consuming substances to kill hunger.

After in-depth discussion with paediatricians, we started providing nutritional supplements to the children at Anandghar thrice a week. Currently we provide Rajgira Laddoo, Peanut-Jaggery Chikki and Banana to children. We are currently looking for donors who can contribute to help us provide the required nutritional supplement regularly.

How you can support?:

• You can support in either of the following ways:
• Total Cost for providing nutritional supplements thrice a week for one month to one center: Rs. 6000/- for 60 children.
• Total Cost required for providing nutritional supplements thrice a week for one month to 3 centers: Rs. 18000/- (For 175 children)
• Cost per child per month: Rs. 100/-
• Cost for 1 week for 1 center: Rs. 1200/-

Educational Support:

• School Fees of 25 children: Rs. 50000/- (Rs. 2000 per child)
• School Uniforms: Rs. 500 per child per year
• Stationery: Rs. 500 per child per year
• Stipend of a Fellow-Educator: Rs. 10000/- per month per educator
• Rent of Anandghar: Rs. 3000 per month
