Life Basics Literacy – No woman and girl should loss their life! Never Should Risk their life!!

India’s and especially the state of Andhra Pradesh’s majority of population are living in rural areas only. Most of the rural women and girls are unable to read and write even the vernacular language or local dialect! It makes them to depend on others! Many of these villages/hamlets have no basic transport and communication facilities and also each and every village settlement in AP State unlike other states has 5 to 10 kilometers distance in between nearby villages most of the time with no one on muddy connecting roads covered with agro-fields and agro-forestry. Women are at risk in many rural areas as they have no a secured ambiance and protection even when they are in home too, then how it would be if they are in outside or if they have to return to home after work, job and studies late! Most of the rural women and girls are illiterate; in the sense not simply on how to read and write – but many LIFE BASICS’ needs and necessities like even using a Mobile Phone, sending message and do not have this inevitable one so to save their life when they are in a trouble to send a message or to call somebody for help or to record or to take a photo of the offender/attacker as evidence and many such benefits!! And such many life-basics are there on which they are illiterate and ignorant!!! (For example accessing to service numbers, emergency numbers like police, fire force, health, women’s cell, legal aid and such basics)

As the situation is so, CWN has plans to open Life Basics Literacy Animation Centers selecting few Mandals yearly at Headquarters. These Exclusive Animation Centers will function up to ten months so that make a women phalanx equipped with knowledge, capacity, informed, shared and transformed towards accordance throwing away all chains and coming out from the dungeon of ignorance and illiteracy to be equal as of or more than men climbing the first rung of the development ladder. We are committed for the same, if those centers set-up over all Mandals thus covering all the Mandals every year for 4 to 5 years no girl or women will be left without knowledge and literacy as the girl children will be sent to school and all the women who are illiterates and ignorant will be made literates on life basics!!!

Activities and Reach out:         

Activities that we planned to take-up:

• Teaching how to read and write in their vernacular local mother-tongue.
• Teaching how to read and write and use arithmetic. Teaching on how to use modern technologies and social Medias for development, safety, unity and accordance – life saving (Example Mobile phones, messaging, facebook, Whatsapp, various Apps, creating group and having connections with others etc.
• Teaching the learners bout the helpline, emergency and urgency numbers, redressal mechanism, legal aids and every such facilities.
• Teaching what is ICT and how to surf, use internet, online portals, websites, utilize various women’s development schemes, subsidies, loans, helps, women’s networks and what are the information useful along with the issues and traps of internet and ICT world. (So that they can know if their children are mis-using them and destroy themselves)
• Teaching various benefits and features and facilities that are necessary for development and to avoid exploitation, cheating and legal entitlements (Knowledge on Bank accounts, Debit/Credit cards, ID cards’ use, importance of passwords or security numbers and many such life-basics literacy)

• During a period of 12 months, it is planned to cover 10 centers over 10 Mandal headquarters (We have materials like computers, resource books and other necessary items for 10 centers only)
• Having selecting a total of 100 women and girls into each center, there will be 2000 rural illiterate and ignorant women and girls will be covered and made literate on life-basics
• Enhancing knowledge, know-how, there will be nearly 2000 women and girls will have mobile use and make use of modern facilities of digital, social and life supporting services for development.
• More than 2000 families will have self-esteem, peace, better planning, various schemes utilization etc. for development and as the women are knowledgeable, the children’s misuse and possible relapsing into traps, inappropriate content use etc. will be reduced, thus children’s betterment.
• A total of 2350 women and girls will have life-basics knowledge and development as the direct beneficiaries will share their experience and learning with their neighbors and friends.
• There will not be cheating, misuse and exploitation due to ignorance and as the women themselves use their IDs, debit cards and other importance documents etc.
• Reduce life-risks on public places, atrocities and home-atrocities, tortures and attacks and all against women even from their husbands too, thus to happiness and peace.
• Stop early marriage of innocent girls, forced marriages against girls will, public harassment etc. as they get knowledgeable and make utilize services meant for the same.
• A wide network of women with existing networks for common platform, sharing, capacity building, resource distribution as the 350 women will be facilitated to join them.
• Better function of women’s community structures like SHGs as they get knowledgeable make utilize many schemes, subsidies and loans meant for them.
