Tis the end of the year, the time to give thanks, be grateful for all that we hold close and to remember what is important in our lives ... Health, Happiness, Family, Friends and surviving the tough last two years.

It is also a time to step back and think about what we can do to share and help those not be fortunate as us. It is a time to think how we can bring a smile and light up the lives of brave children battling cancer. Give them the simple gift of their #righttohealth, which today remains a distant dream for many; because cancer treatment can be draining, depressing and expensive if not diagnosed and guided early.

Meet Urmi. Coming from a small town in rural India, Urmi’s family did not know where to get her diagnosed or treated and how to access the support and schemes available during the long cancer journey the family could ill-afford. On contacting the CanKids State Helpline, our care coordination & social support teams registered them under our YANA (You Are Not Alone) program, and guided, supported and financially aided every step of the way from diagnostics, medicines, blood support, nutrition, counseling, accommodation, transport, and education. Urmi today has completed her treatment and is back home and thriving. 

Every year over 75000 children like Urmi get diagnosed with cancer of which a large percent come from small towns and villages.  At Cankids KidsCan we work in partnership  with 125 cancer centers across 54 cities in  22 states to ensure Access2Care for a child with cancer enabling best standards of treatment, care and support.

Led by Poonam Bagai, herself a cancer survivor, CanKids is committed to help children with cancer get the Right to Health -  “to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health and to facilities for the treatment of illness and rehabilitation of health - to ensure that no child is deprived of his or her right of access to such health care services “.
