Lighting up the lives of children in TARA Homes

Out of the 170 million children who are estimated to be in vulnerable or difficult circumstances, 250 thousand are growing up in 7163 Child Care Institutions of India (MWCD, GoI and NCPCR). Thus, Child Care Institutions play a pivotal role in shaping the childhood experiences of millions of children. For children to be able to overcome their past trauma and experience happiness, such institutions strive to give them a family-like environment. The smallest gestures of kindness can give these children great joy. The children of TARA await the festive season and look forward to receiving gifts and celebrating together. It is the perfect occasion to be grateful and celebrate the small joys of life.

TARA, since its inception, has strived to give its children the best childhood. The children of TARA are enrolled in renowned english-medium schools and have access to numerous activities and personality development avenues in school and also at TARA Homes. To ensure that the children have a fulfilling childhood and feel special and well taken care of, we also provide them with the best quality of everyday essentials, like clothes, books, and other items. When children have access to reading and stationery materials, the learning outcomes are better. Similarly, quality clothes of their choice help the children feel more confident. With the approaching winters, children, who tend to grow out their old clothes faster will need warm clothes as well. These everyday essentials can make a world of difference in how the children view themselves and their life in TARA.

Through this project, we can fund the everyday essentials of 60 children. With winters approaching, the children are in need of a complete set of clothes, footwear, grooming

and hygiene products, etc. The festive season is also when they get new school essentials like bag, water bottles, lunch boxes and stationery. These items are essential

for them to aid their academic progress and make their everyday life comfortable. These everyday essentials will last them at least a year and become a reminder of your

generosity. Diwali, a festival of lights, is indeed a time when you can contribute to bringing smile on their faces.

With the efforts of the team of TARA and continued support from our sponsors, donors, and corporates, we are able to provide a quality life to the children where they never feel like they have to live without access to the basic necessities for a dignified life.

TARA, through the individual attention provided to each beneficiary and the longevity of the actions undertaken, contributes to real social change in the lives of these vulnerable, abandoned children and orphans in India.
