Livelihood Generation for Rural Women through establishing small dairy units and other micro-enterprises

The impact of COVID-19 across the global economy is profound. It impacted socioeconomic life and millions have or will lose their jobs and livelihoods. Compounded economic impacts are felt especially by women and girls who are generally earning less, saving less, and holding insecure jobs or living close to poverty. The health of women generally is adversely impacted through the reallocation of resources and priorities, including sexual and reproductive health services.

Aggregate shocks to economic activity can affect welfare (and well-being) at the household and individual level. There are longer-run dynamic effects that can have extremely damaging impacts on economic mobility of individuals and with that on movements of households into and out of poverty. For example, a loss of income for a period of time can severely restrict the ability of poor households to invest in education of children, and/or in the nutrition and health of children and mothers, with potential negative impacts on long-term outcomes of children, including lifetime earnings. Beside this, due to the pandemic, the lot many migrant workers and laborers have come back to their respective States, which in turn have raised the economic stability concern. 

Balajee Sewa Sansthan empower and build the capacity of COVID-19 affected economically poor women by providing them training in business and management skills and providing them revolving funds to start economic activities. We are focus on women who are active in taking up this opportunity.

Training would be provided in food processing including pickle-papad making, floriculture, cattle reading and dairy work and handicraft/readymade garments making and selling as well as beautician courses for the girls and young entrepreneur who are living around semi-urban localities.

Other than above we are going to do following activities with them

-     To mobilize and motivate the rural poor women to set up self-help income generating projects by training them in entrepreneurial and business skills.

-     These may be fashion designing, beauticians, petty shops, Papad/ pickle making, fruit preservation and establishing small-scale industries in the area.

-     To liberate rural women from economic bondage, dependency, poverty and make them financial and socially empowered.

-     To extend a Revolving Fund to members of the local communities of the economically poor women (Bankable poor so as to empower them and engage in income generating micro projects and businesses to support their families

This project is a woman centric and the grant will be used to empower the women economically and socially by building their capacity to start a business model. It is largely believed that one of the impacts of the grant support will be to increase self-respect and esteem among community and hence liberating them economically, physically, and socially. This project is to explore the capabilities of women and girls and outlining priority measures to accompany both the immediate response and longer-term economic recovery efforts.

 Other than above following Impact will be there in the community

-     COVID affected unemployed rural poor family will become capable to earn 5000-8000 pm

-     Get empowered socially and economically and work from home

-     Capable to access high quality financial services and products for expansion of the business

-     Increased self respect and esteem among rural poor women who will strive to succeed and overcomes poverty.

-     Alleviation of poverty from their midst and will acquire financial discipline and learn how to save and invest.
