Low cost Dialysis for critical Kidney Disease Patients

The target group that benefits from our activities include the people who cannot afford their proper medical treatment. These groups are:

-Poorest of the poor

-Homeless and the precariously housed

-Woman headed households

-Extremely vulnerable categories among vulnerable women

-Unemployed

-BPL Groups

-Retired primary school teachers

We have multiple programs running that are focused on helping the poor in need of support to deal with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). Our programs include:

-Subsidized dialysis for the poor - We offer dialysis that can cost anywhere between INR 1500 at 50% the cost.

-Women only Dialysis Unit - We have a dedicated women’s only dialysis unit with women staff. The unit helps promote dialysis among women. Women generally are more prone to CKD in comparison to men.

-Establishment of a new dialysis center to help more patients - We are setting up a new dialysis center that will have a capacity of 85 beds to provide low-cost dialysis for patients.

-Prevention screening camps for school children- we conduct screening camps in schools to identify at-risk kids and young adults.

BKF has pioneered the treatment of renal failure and kidney diseases in the state of Karnataka. The foundation has evolved to become the nodal center for providing quality renal health care at affordable costs to patients who are underprivileged. Bangalore Kidney Foundation (BKF) was established in 1979 as a charitable institution. The foundation is being managed by non-medical professionals devoted to the cause of serving the poor and the economically backward.
