• Mahavir International / Mahavir Foundation Trust is dedicated to supporting the education of the bright and needy, with the strong belief that “Education is indeed the best gift”
• Starting with 100 students in 2001, we have grown to cover over 6,000 students in the city during last year, through a number of tailor-made schemes and initiatives.
•  We also provide support through Samvedana (Old Clothes, toys, stationery, etc.) to their families (covering a total of over 20,000 beneficiaries).
• Through our Open Scholarship Programme, we have been providing financial support to more than 3500 students annually.
• We have close to 120 amazing members who are largely professionals, businessmen and industrialists, well-established in their fields and totally dedicated to the cause.
• We have also undertaken to take Education to children from slums and footpaths under “Asha Deep” Initiative.
• We are currently operating 18 such Asha Deep centres right on the footpaths / in slums / under flyovers.
• These centres now cater to over 500 children
• In addition to imparting basic Education, we also work on their all-round development focussing on Hygiene, Good Manners, Sports, Entertainment and Creativity.
• All children are provided uniforms, shoes, school bags, study material as well as daily Nashta etc
• A significant number of these children are showing tremendous promise and can be groomed further / better.
• We have shifted close to ninety such promising children to good, regular schools to ensure their long term education and growth and providing after school coaching in ADMS ( Ashadeep Mentor sponsor scheme) on daily basis.
• Another project, Kayakalp, is meant for bright students from 9th to 12th std. We have enrolled close to 150 students in Baroda High School, Danteshwar (BHSD) and are providing after-school coaching under Kayakalp. We also impart training in personality development, communication skills, computer skills, English speaking under this programme for the holistic development of beneficiaries.

From our very inception, we have stuck to some basic core values and guiding principles which include:

o  No distinction on the basis of religion, caste or gender etc

o  Personal assessment by esteemed members before beneficiary shortlisting.

o  Continuity of support for as long as the education continues.

o  Ensuring that the Self-respect of the beneficiaries is never compromised.

o  Ensuring that every single rupee contributed goes to the beneficiaries (all admin costs are met by members themselves, along with significant financial contributions made by them for the overall cause of education)

Over the last year, we have also undertaken humanitarian initiatives focussed on Flood Relief, Covid Relief and support to Migrant Labour.
