Make a difference to the lives of orphan children

Bal Asha Ghar, a project taken over by SAMPARC management from an organisation based in Mumbai, who were unable to run the program efficiently.

SAMPARC takes care of the children of sex workers from the red light area. Initially; children were not adjusted to the surroundings when SAMPARC took over the responsibility of running the Balgram.

They were not interested in studies and other extra-curricular activities. The background of children and problems with the previous management added to the insecurity of the children.

As the name of the centre itself suggests, SAMPARC aspired to ignite new hopes in the lives of children of socially victim women for their overall growth, development and education.

SAMPARC's aim is to preserve children’s happiness, innocence and goodness. The focus is to impart good education, serve healthy & nutritious food, arrange sporting and recreational activities and ensure social & cultural interactions.

To free these children from immoral trafficking; they are provided opportunities to lead a normal life so that they can join the mainstream society as other children.

Presently, 48 boys are living in a family set-up. Children now attend school regularly and at the same time participate in various extra curricular activities.

Also; they have won accolades at the district & state level. Under the able guidance of Amit Kumar Banerjee and his dedicated staff members; children are doing excellent in sports and education.

The situation has now tremendously improved and has brought about a drastic change in their lives. Regular counselling, care and support have changed the children to a very large extent.
