Mission :

To provide necessary training and rehabilitation to the persons with intellectual disability in order to lead an independent life to the extent possible by establishing special schools & residential homes

To achieve the goal, the organization is employing trained professionals and net working with Philanthropists, Government, NGOs, public & private sectors, banks etc.

There will be a vast difference in the mental growth of a mentally challenged child when compared with a normal child. On any aspect of learning their ability will be very slow and it is very difficult for them to adapt to various situations. In this context, the members felt that if rehabilitation and recreation are offered freely to these children to enhance their mental ability and to perform their own daily activities to the extent possible. Keeping all these in view, this initiative has been taken up by the members who wanted to make a difference in the lives of mentally challenged children and also to provide some relief to the parents to attend their daily works.

The Special School for mentally challenged was started on 30.08.1991 with 3 children in a rented building at Barkatpura, Hyderabad-29.

At present the school is functioning in its own building at Mohannagar, Kothapet, Hyderabad-35 catering the needs of 75 beneficiaries with all required infrastructure (age group of students is between 5 – 50 years with different levels of mental retardation.

The Teacher – Students ration is 1 - 10

Facilities :

Major activities at the School are :-

• Training in self-help skills, basic reading and writing skills, social skills, sports and cultural activities.

• Yoga, physiotherapy and speech therapy .

• Vocational training in the preparation of G’cards, D&S Powders, straw dolls, phenyle, wire garlands, rakhies,

friendship bands, cloth flowers & tailoring work etc.

• Participation in State/District/National level special Olympics

• We are organizing local picnics and outstation tours for students, parents, and staff.

The special educators put continuous efforts to train the students in self help skills, basic reading and writing skills, arithmetic’s. Efforts are being made towards the development of physical and mental ability of the students by imparting Vocational training, therapies (Physiotherapy & speech therapy) which leads to overall development of a student to the possible extent.

Few Adult students of above 20 years age may able to work with small entrepreneurs, super markets, printing press etc
