About

One of the main objectives of MCKS FFHUP is to provide medical aid, hospital expenses and other health related expenses to the marginalized sectors of society. After survey and research on many facts we saw the major hygiene (Menstrual Hygiene) problem that is been still faced by many adolescent girls and women in today’s modern era, due to lack of knowledge, lack of awareness, taboos and stigmas which eventually affects the physical, emotional & mental health of an individual.

Here’s a general information about the Menstrual Health & Hygiene from a guide released by Human Rights Watch & WASH United:-

Menstrual hygiene management is a human rights issue.

Most women and girls menstruate every month between menarche and menopause. However, this normal bodily function is still met with silence, taboos, and stigma. Pads and other supplies may be unavailable or unaffordable, they may lack access to safe toilet facilities with clean water where they can clean themselves in privacy, and they face discriminatory cultural norms or practices that make it difficult to maintain good menstrual hygiene. Together, these challenges may result in women and girls being denied basic human rights.

“People who make policy and run programs – and even human rights advocates – often don’t fully understand the impact a woman’s monthly period may have on her ability to go about her life if she doesn’t have what she needs to manage it. By breaking the silence around menstruation, women can identify barriers they face in managing it.” said Amanda Klasing, senior women’s rights researcher at Human Rights Watch.

Thus, we are planning the Menstrual Hygiene Campaign 2023 to promote the wellness, awareness, freeness about the very natural and universal part of life which was usually normal but due to some deterioration in thoughts and patriarchal society it was forced to be believed as abnormal & disrespectful. Just a change in one’s thought & in one own-self can bring a lot more safer and friendly environment for each & every women of our society. We have to start somewhere and now is the time to implement the right attitude toward basic right of human. Thinking of which, our Foundation is going to take this initiative and also we hope to give the best out of it.

Survey

Before implementing the plan, we did our survey, that which location of the district is easily accessible to start the program and also where the need is more. A place named Macchodari, situated near bank of the river Ganga (Varanasi, U.P.) is the first location where the campaign will be introduced to the young girls and women by our team members so that they can become aware of menstrual hygiene and can focus on their dreams, follow their passion, live happily leaving behind all the myths and stigmas.

Target

Our Foundation MCKS FFHUP targets to distribute around 200-300 sanitary napkins and some raw food materials such as biscuits, fruits, milk etc. to the girls & women every month for the entire year, starting from 20th March 2023 till 31st March 2024 which costs around ₹100 per person in a month and the estimated value for the entire year is ₹4 Lac. We seek for the help and humble contributions which will not only be a contribution but also a support and encouragement to this thought of creating a world where no more girls will be ashamed of having menstruation and can stay hygienic & healthy.

Impact

Your donation will not only support the dreams and ambitions of the little girls but also change the perception about the natural phase of every women’s life. Every daughter, every girl, every woman has the right to lead her life with dignity, respect, equality, safety & carefree. So let’s not complicate it.
