Mental Health For All

COVID-19 has impacted mental health across demographics and it will continue to do so during and post COVID-19. We need to think about rehabilitation today and that is what we are doing. We have initiated a COVID-19 Mental Health Rehabilitation program that integrates research, building capacity, advocacy and direct services. We are currently fundraising for the first phase of the program that looks at the direct provision of free and subsidised mental health services for urban youth and the initiation of research and free peer counselling programs. This program has evolved into the 'Mental Health for All' project that aims to ensure equitable access to mental health services for everyone.

We are raising funds to pay for mental health needs of urban youth and manage the process of seeking and receiving help for them. This reduces logistical and financial burden for the workers and ensures that mental health service providers are paid. We have run this action intervention successfully for a year, having supported 1500+ people with demonstrated impact and 100% of those participating rating the services they received between 4.5-5/5.

We've been talking about reducing mental health stigma for years. However, this conversation occurs without supporting access to mental health services. We want to fill this service gap through free and subsidised quality mental healthcare services.
