Impact Suman was a 7-year-old child without any dreams. Simple joys like going to school and making friends were alien to her. Her father had a damaged kidney and her mother was a daily wage worker. Their extreme poverty neither allowed them to send her to school and nor were they able to fulfill her small needs. About The Program 'Every Girl In School' program provides education to underprivileged girl children. About The NGO Gunjan Foundation is a non-government organization founded in 2004 with a mission to pursue educational and other welfare measures for the upliftment of the underprivileged sections of the society. Gunjan reaches out to children, especially girls, to promote empowerment through education. It enables beneficiaries to achieve self-respect and self-reliance, which fosters hope and confidence in fulfilling their lives.Gunjan Foundation was visualized by Mrs. Sushma Singhvi to provide a forum for education and personality development for the underprivileged sections of the society in slum areas. Late Sh.Ram Niwas Mirdha was the motivating force behind this project.In 2015, Sushma Singhvi was awarded the “Woman of the year” by the All India Achievers' Award. In 2016, Sushma Singhvi was awarded the “Double Helical Award” by the Double Helical Social Worker and a year later, she was awarded the “Guest Of Honour” by the Heart &amp; Soul Women Rising.As of 2020-2021, we are a team of 19 full-time working staff members and 2 part-time staff members. We have 4 volunteers offering their support. We have successfully impacted 210 children from Nursery to grade 5 by providing education. Our total receipts for 2016-17 is INR 12733826 and payments for 2017-17 is INR 4884961

GUNJAN FOUNDATION is a non-governmental social organization registered under Niti Aayog and under the Societies Registration Act, (XXI) of 1860, founded in 2004 by Ms. Sushma Singhvi with a mission to pursue educational and other welfare measures for uplifting the underprivileged sections of the society. It sought the task of educating and creating social awareness for the less fortunate thereby improving opportunities for a better standard of living. Gunjan reaches out to children, especially the girl child to promote empowerment, self-respect, and self-reliance through free education which fosters hope and confidence in pursuing fulfilling lives.  MissionGunjan Foundation’s mission is to educate the less fortunate who are unable to afford formal schools. We provide quality education to children of marginalized sections of society to enable them to be at par with private school children. The Foundation reaches out to children of various slums in the surrounding areas of the school. We are very proud of how well our children are doing. Parents have placed their faith in us and we can confidently say that we have their vote in Nathupur and the surrounding communities of Gurugram!!We also lay special emphasis on free education and social emancipation for the girl child in consonance with the government’s ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ initiative. Education gives our girls the confidence to break free of traditional roles, pursue their dreams, and grow up to be equal citizens of this country.VisionWe continue to believe strongly that education is the key to building a strong nation. Literacy does more for society in one generation than anything else. It does away with age-old rudimentary customs, ill beliefs, superstitions, etc. As a result, since we made our humble beginnings in 2004, we have been primarily focusing on fulfilling the primary to higher secondary level educational needs and aspirations of the students.We have widened our horizons further. For the past four years, we have been financially supporting marginalized students who are pursuing advanced and professional courses. Our vision also includes advanced and professional courses in the future.              Scholarship Program-School StudentsThere comes a time in the life of an organization when it wants to expand its horizons, to pivot and refocus on core priorities and use efforts and resources for optimal results. In 2022, we have shifted all the students from our school Swapna Sarthak to private schools and support their education thereby providing monetary aid. The encouragement, mentoring, and scholarships will be ours and the partner schools will be Shishu Kalyan High School. We had already started a scholarship program about four years back for our students who join Shishu Kalyan High School from Class 6th to 12th after completing education till 5th grade in our Swapna Sarthak School in Gurgaon. As of now, we have provided scholarships to about 81 alumni students in Shishu Kalyan High School, 3 in Summer Field School, and 1 in Ridge Valley School. Out of these, we are providing scholarships to 75 students in Shishu Kalyan High School, Gurugram, and the rest are funded by DLF Foundation on Gunjan’s request.Currently, we are providing scholarships to about 200 students.Scholarship Program- Advanced EducationOur first batch will now pass out from 12th grade, ready to embrace the growth opportunities of the world. Not wanting to leave these students midstream it is also our endeavor now to see these students through college. We plan to provide scholarships to deserving students for higher studies. This way their future is more than secure.  Fulfillment of ObjectivesTo provide the scholarship to students who require it. Our main motto is to access the people who economically can't afford higher education.We have been providing such a scholarship for advanced courses for the past four years.One of our students, Arpit Goel, whom we had sponsored, has completed his MBA from FORE School of Management.Another student which we are sponsoring is Abhay Sharma. He is pursuing a Hotel Management course from T.John College, Bangalore.CSR Projects/ProgramsEducation:Gunjan Foundation Scholarship FundIt will please you to know that along with our regular school we are also monetarily supporting many of our students who have passed out from our school during the past few years and are now studying in regular schools in classes 6 to 12. It is a matter of great pride for us that because of our excellent reputation in surrounding areas when our children pass out they are quickly absorbed by good private schools. Most of them would have dropped out of those schools had it not been for the initiative we took by starting a special scholarship fund for them wherein we fund their entire year’s education. We have 80 students in Shishu Kalyan High School, Gurugram.  Health Check-upOur sincere thanks to the All India Human Development Council for continuing their association with us for the past several years.This year due to pandemic circumstances they have started Tuesday Clinic in our school Swapna Sarthak to treat general patients of our surroundings. Every year the council organizes an annual health check-up of students at Swapna Sarthak School. All students would be examined by a team of doctors including physicians, dentists, and ophthalmologists. Heights and weights are recorded too. The doctors are always very satisfied with the health status of the students barring a few stray cases which may require some medical intervention.  COVID-19We have distributed:1.40 PPE Kits and 1000 N-95 Masks in Safdarjung Hospital, run by the government of Delhi2.150 Ration Kits and 1000 sanitizers through Dr. Kumar Vishwas.3.350 N-95 Masks to Bangla Sahib, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, and a cheque of Rs.21,000/-.4.167 Ration Kits to students of Swapna Sarthak School, class IV staff, maids of school teachers, and construction laborers.5.75 Ration Kits to our alumni students through Delhi SRK Universe.6.30 Ration Kits for GB Road’s Sex Workers.7.50 N-95 Masks to guards, sweepers, dhobi, laborers, etc.Book Publication                           Gunjan Foundation published a book ‘Exploring Mind Pollution’ which was released by Lyrist Shri Javed Akhtar in the year of 2010.‘Exploring Mind Pollution,’ a book dealing with the subject of how the mind of human beings has been contaminated was published by soliciting articles and messages from various personalities from India and abroad. The personalities include Dr. Karan Singh, H.H. Dalai Lama, Late Dr. L.M. Singhvi, Dr. S.Y. Quraishi, Dr. David Frawley, Justice R.C Lahoti, Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi, and Prof. K.M. Lodha amongst others.  Project Smile:         In 2013 Gunjan Foundation decided to start a collaborative project called ‘Project Smile’ to collect clothes, utensils, computers, toys, books etc. from various communities to distribute to children and families at Gunjan and other NGOs (Prayas, BalSahyog, Sapna, Naritaav, Nanak, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Sakshi, The Earth Saviours Foundation, Vidya, Manav Purt Nyas etc.). The belief is that collaboration and coordination can increase the supply and efficacy of donations.JAIPUR CHAPTERAim - To provide scholarships to marginalized students for college/ advanced courses/ professional courses.Background of the ProjectThe project rationale originated from the need to provide scholarships to students for higher education.After having made major strides in the area of education for marginalized children we at Gunjan Foundation wanted to expand our horizons, even more, to be able to reach out to a larger number of students and to help alter their lives for the better. Unfortunately, we cannot expand the number or size of our classrooms or increase the number of children in our school because of restrictions we must adhere to. So, we decided that another way of reaching out to and helping more students would be by way of providing scholarships for professional courses to underprivileged students many of whom are unable to afford the fees and other charges of advanced and professional courses. Many children have dreams of careers in medicine or engineering (to name a few areas) but are unable to afford the steep monetary requirements of these courses. To enable such needy students to realize their dreams we have decided to start a Chapter of the Gunjan Foundation in Jaipur with the sole intent of disbursing scholarships.In fact, over the past 4 years, we have already aided 4 students and helped them to complete their professional courses but now we want to do this on a larger scale. We have identified Rajasthan as the state where we would like to establish ourselves and would like to operate out of Jaipur as it is close to Delhi and commuting to and fro to manage things is quite simple.Program Findings  There is a need for scholarships for higher education that will arm students and help them in securing good jobs as they are unable to cope with the finances on their own. Their home environment and parents are unable to help much with financial assistance.Project Management SectionThe Foundation has started a new chapter of Gunjan in Jaipur for Rajasthan students only and in the future, we will expand this PAN India. Project Design &amp; ImplementationTo provide scholarships for advanced education to the neediest students who have the desire to achieve but can't afford the expenses. We want to fulfill the dreams of such children. We have been providing scholarships for advanced education for the past four years.Below mentioned are the students whom we are sponsoring for higher education:1. In 2021, we sponsored Monika Kumari Meghwal in Rajasthan College of Engineering for Women for B.Tech and now sponsoring Manijar Mandal in ICFAI University, Jharkhand.2. From the current session onwards, we have also started sponsoring education in the fields of IIT and others.3. We are also sponsoring the education of Sonakshi Meena, a medical student.From July 2022, onwards we are planning to sponsor in the fields of Pharmacy, Computer, and many others.Also, we are planning to provide computer classes and spoken English courses to the Devnaryan Girls Hostel, Jamdoli Jaipur. Along with this, we are also planning to set up a library in the hostel for the students through PB Ranka Foundation and will provide food in the morning and evening by COWE Jaipur Chapter supported by Kuhad Trust. Counselling &amp; Personality DevelopmentWe have collaborated with Shalini Girls who work with Government Girl Schools where they select 50-60 girls each year and support them for further education. The girls are selected on the basis of their needs and intelligence. In 2021, we have also provided career counseling and personality development classes to around 60 girls of Shalini. These are being conducted by Ms. Harsha Rohit under the aegis of the Gunjan Foundation. The classes and counseling both went well and there is a greater demand for them.
