My parents have lost everything paying for my cancer treatment. Please help us.

Story

I don’t want to trouble Maa and Papa. I can bear the pain that this cancer gives me but I cannot bear to see my mother and father cry. They have already lost every little valuable and savings for my treatment. I wish God would allow me to recover at least for their sake... if he did, I would start earning, take care of my family and help clear their debts because of me,” says brave Jaya Prabha, who is now battling cancer for the second time.

29-year-old Jaya Prabha was diagnosed in 2019 with lung cancer and after strenuous chemotherapy, she left for home cancer-free. But within a year, she again fell sick but this time she had a new battle to fight - she was diagnosed with Mediastinal B Cell Lymphoma, a type of cancer that originates in cells of the immune system, called lymphocytes which will soon kill her if left untreated.

“One day, I woke up with severe pain in my throat. I couldn’t swallow even a few drops of water let alone have a meal. I thought it would be a normal infection and took medicines from the local drug store,” said Jaya Prabha.

Within a day, her condition became severe and she started coughing blood. Panicked, her parents rushed her to the hospital and before they knew she was diagnosed with lung cancer.

“But she fought it bravely. She was discharged. But even before she could fully heal... she is back at the hospital, fighting another cancer in the form of Lymphoma that is slowly killing her, says Suman, mother of Jaya Prabha.

Cancer has drained her spirit

Why does god keep hurting my child...Why does he keep testing poor people like us? My child just fought one cancer and now she has another one to fight. How much can her body suffer? She is too weak to even walk let alone talk or call me Maa,” says Suman.

Jaya Prabha dreamed of becoming an engineer but poverty pulled her out of school at 10th grade and from then she has been working in a shop to support her family and help her brother study. But it’s been 3 years since cancer made her bed bound and now she considers herself as a burden to her family.

“She is slowly losing hope. She doesn’t want to trouble us and wants us to let her die...but how can a father allow his daughter to die in front of his eyes? I want to get her a surgery soon,” - saya father of Jaya Prabha, Ramsingh.

But the only way Jaya Prabha can recover is to get a bone marrow transplant and remove the cancer that is reducing her disease-fighting immune cells. The whole procedure will cost up to ₹30 lakh. But with no way to afford it, her poor family are in distress. Whatever savings they had till now, has been used for Jaya Prabha's chemotherapy and they are already neck-deep in loans and debt.

From working overtime to starving himself

Ramsingh is an auto driver who makes not more than ₹300 a day. With a meagre sum he feeds four mouths, educates his son and now, treats his dying daughter.

“How can someone like me manage to pay an amount of ₹30 lakh for surgery? But I’m trying….trying everything in my strength to manage paying the medical bills - I work at night. I take extra rides even when my back goes numb. I even starve myself to sleep because it makes me save extra money for my daughter’s treatment,” - says a despairing Ramsingh.

Only you can save this family from losing their loved one

But how much ever he tries, the amount he could save is not even close to that huge sum. This poor family needs your help to save their dying daughter. With no money left and no more help from friends and family, they are turning to you to help them pay for Jaya Prabha’s life saving treatment. You are their only hope. Please donate and help her defeat cancer twice.
