Nari Shakti: Invest for a brighter tomorrow!

It is evident that due to social limitations and the dominance of patriarchy, women have not had their share in terms of job opportunities or establishing independent businesses. Due to this, most women continue to depend on their male counterparts. This has resulted in a significant gender gap in terms of access to employment and equal opportunities.

Therefore, by providing women with the skills and knowledge that they need to participate in the workforce and become economically independent, we target at reducing gender stereotypes and biases. Through education and training programs, women can gain the confidence and independence they need to secure better jobs, start their own businesses, and contribute to the economic development of their communities.

In this way, empowering women can lead to a range of benefits, not just for the women themselves but also for their families, communities, and society as a whole.

Deepalaya’s Project Nari Shakti is designed to develop the skills and capabilities of girls/women coming from the less-privileged community of society by equipping them with the skill set required to start independent businesses. 

Training for two employable streams is provided: cosmetology (Beauty Culture, Grooming & Wellness) and Fashion Designing (Garments Making and Selling) for girls and young women entrepreneurs living around semi-urban localities.

Further, the Nutrition Education and Entrepreneurship Programme also team up under this initiative to give them better career avenues. 

Nari Shakti aims to improve the economic and social status of women by providing them with the resources they need to start their own businesses. This initiative is expected to increase the self-respect and confidence of the community and promote their economic, physical, and social liberation.

By starting their own businesses, women can gain financial independence and control over their economic futures. Entrepreneurship can provide women with more job opportunities, especially in areas where traditional employment options are limited. Further, owning a business also allows women to balance work and family responsibilities, as they have the flexibility to set their own schedules.

Therefore, avenues for livelihood generation can be a valuable tool for women to achieve greater economic and social empowerment and help to create a more equitable and sustainable future.
