NAVADHA SCHOOL

• Education is the building stone of development and growth, it provides one with the tools to hone their skills and presents people with the ability to break through social barriers and constructs to start a legacy of their own. The United Nations today recognizes Education as a basic human right for the same reason because it gives people a chance at a better life.
• Most children in the villages near Kalagachhia hardly make it to high school and only a handful make it to college. This makes the young population vulnerable. Lack of interest in education and poverty act as a major tool for young children to look for work early in life. Leaving behind education and killing their dreams they take the train to South India to work in Clothes or footwear companies or buses to Kolkata to work in Umbrella companies. If these two options do not work, they are left to work in fisheries making rich richer and poor even poorer.
•  Due to poverty, child marriage and child labour is very prominent in this village. A world-class school like Navadha could be a beacon of hope and light for many "kyunki padhega India tabhi to badhega India".
• The aim of Navadha School is very simple. It has to come up in villages with no connectivity, no proper roads,no proper transportation, and basic amenities like clean drinking water and health are still distant dreams of many.
• Navadha school would be a focal point of development for not only kalagachhia but also in and around 10 villages around kalagachia. Navadha school is a child-friendly inclusive school that will provide free education for orphans, differently-abled children, girl children with single parents,s and families lying Below Poverty Line.

• 1. Navadha school aims to be a child-friendly school with quality education and inclusive characteristics.
• 2. Navadha school will provide education at affordable prices. It also provides free education for orphans, differently-abled children, girl children with single parents, and families lying under BPL.
• 3. We will provide free school dresses, shoes and school bags with stationeries and 
• wheelchair facilities for differently-abled children.
• 3. This child-friendly school involves a Ramp for wheelchairs, Western Toilet, colorful drawing painted walls, child-friendly corner, and multiple tricky games to attract children's attention. 
• 4. Navadha school provides free nutritious meals for all the children.
• 5. Navadha school is based on Inclusiveness which involves Right to Life, Right to Development, Right to Protection, and Right to Participation.
• 6. Navadha school promotes Digital as well as Community Learning. After school, the school premises will be used for community learning center purposes. 
• 7. School boundary walls will be made up of Eco bricks which would teach the students about 4 R’s that are reuse, reduce, recycle and recover.
• 8. Under the Digi-Pal program, Navadha School will provide the Virtual International knowledge Exchange Program where children and their mentors from different countries will interact with our children.

We want to build this school as a world-class inclusive school for which every child should look up to and deserves the best.

We want to build this school to 12th standard registered under CBSE Board which ensures that every child from nearby villages as well should at least complete his education without any obstacles.

The School in the last 6 months has a strength of 60 children. many more are yet to get admitted due to lack of space and equipment in the school

We are looking to enroll 300 children in the following 2 years provided enough funds we have to sustain the project 

To make the school more impactful we are trying a couple of things -

• 1. Use BioGas for cooking.
• 2. Use solar panels for electricity in the long run. 
• 3. Encourage parents and students to plant vegetables to grow their own vegetables to help school become sustainable in a small way.
• 4. Our prime focus is to build classrooms for 1 to 5th in the adjacent land. 
• 5. We started the school with 6 teachers, one administrator, 2 cooking staff, 3 supporting staff, and one security.
