For many daily wage earners and low-income families, even a basic medical check-up feels like a luxury. Small health issues are often ignored, not because they are unimportant, but because treatment costs, consultation fees, and diagnostic tests are simply unaffordable. What begins as a minor illness can slowly turn into a serious health condition.

Babu Lal, a driver working in Som Vihar, is the sole breadwinner of his family. His job demands long hours on the road, often with little rest and irregular meals. For months, he had been experiencing frequent headaches and dizziness, but he ignored the symptoms, assuming it was just work-related fatigue. Taking a day off meant losing income, something his family could not afford.

When Babu Lal attended a free health camp organized by HAFCT, his condition was diagnosed as very high blood pressure — a serious and silent risk that could have led to life-threatening complications like heart attack or stroke. With timely diagnosis, medical advice provided at the camp, he was able to take the first step towards managing his health.
