Feeling helpless amidst COVID? You are needed now more than ever to feed our country!

Families of daily wage workers, rickshaw pullers, teachers, daily wage workers, drivers, rag-pickers, and beggars have lost their sources of income during the lockdown while respectfully maintaining social distancing. COVID 19 is only one of their many life-threatening challenges. Help us provide them with the basic nutrition and supplies to make it through this crisis.

Locations: Slums of MUMBAI & GHAZIABAD (NCR) 

Ration for one family: Rs 2000 per month

Ration kit: Aata, dal, rice, salt, oil, and toiletries 

Doorstep delivery of rations + Police Permissions

How: We deliver the kits to the doorstep of the family. A three-member team packs the ration and sanitisation materials into family kits. The ration is being stored in Anubhuti’s local dropping center. After packing these kits, 25 kits are delivered daily with police permissions.

Precautions: While packing, we wear gloves and masks. While stepping out, we wear gloves, masks, and surgical coats. Hand sanitisers come to the rescue to ensure continuous cleanliness. 

Details: We initially provided rations by asking one member from each family to receive it from the center, maintaining adequate distance. However, we soon realised that only the families living on the main road i.e the front of the slum were able to receive the kits. The poorer families living inside were unreachable. Taking police authorities into consultation, we therefore changed our delivery method. We have identified families who are in greatest need and we deliver the kits to the houses of these families. We now feed families in Jhuggies (Urban slums) in Loni, Vasundhra (sector 8, sector10 sector12, sector 15, sector 2c), Vaishali and Kaushambi, Ghaziabad, NCR and the Chawls of Cheetah Camp, Trombay, Mumbai

300 kits have been delivered to 300 families in 10 days with the help of partner organisations and the district administration. This campaign will ensure that 50 families have the required nourishment till the situation returns to normalcy.
