Nourish a Migrant Child, Nourish a Dream! 

Project Background

Sampark’s Nutrition Support for Migrant Children campaign aims to ensure that children from migrant worker families receive regular, nutritious meals and the support they need to grow healthy and thrive. Through this initiative, we invite you to contribute towards nutrition and immunisation support for children who face disruptions in access to food and essential immunisation services as their families move in search of work.

Good nutrition is fundamental to a child’s growth, development, and ability to learn. Yet, India continues to face a significant child nutrition challenge. According to NFHS-5 (2019–21), 35.5% of children under five are stunted, 19.3% are wasted, and 32.1% are underweight. This directly impacts the child’s energy, retention, and ability to concentrate in school and participate in engaging activities that help their holistic development. According to the World Health Organization, globally in 2025, there were 13.5 million children missing out on any vaccination – so-called zero-dose children.

At Sampark’s community-based Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) centres, we work to make nutrition support consistent and responsive to each migrant child’s needs. Children receive nutritious meals, regular growth monitoring, identification of undernutrition, supplementary nutrition where required, and follow-up to track recovery. Migrant children are also engaged in age-appropriate learning activities through a blended approach of digital education, STEM classes, linguistics, and math for complete brain development. Immunisation support is offered through three critical steps including awarness to family, linakge wth Government systems, and monitoring and follow up support to ensure that we eliminate zero dose children under the age of 3.

How can you partner with us?

We invite you to participate in our Nutrition and Immunisation Support campaign and help us ensure that migrant children receive the nourishment and foundational support they need throughout the year.

Your contribution will help provide nutritious meals and nutrition support, including growth monitoring, identification of undernutrition, supplementary nutrition, and recovery tracking, for migrant children through a year. Additionally, your support allows migrant children to stay connected to formal systems and become visible for immunisation support, awareness, and tracking.

Our ask: INR. 40,00,000 keeps 4 ECCE centres running for a year, delivering 100% immunisation coverage and 3 daily meals to every child.
