Nutritional Support for Deafblind Children for a Healthy and Happy Future

In the rural areas of Kerala, where life moves slowly and challenges appear large; there exists a group of extraordinary children facing a world of silence and darkness. These children are deafblind, a condition where the gift of sight and sound is a rarity.

In most families, kids learn and grow by using their eyes and ears. They watch and listen to everything around them. But for these special kids, it's different. They rely more on touch and whatever little they can see or hear. This makes it hard for them to talk or understand the world.

You know, every child deserves things like going to school and having enough food. But these special kids often miss out on these simple things. They also have other health problems like seizures and heart issues.

In some far-off villages in Kerala, many of these special kids come from families that struggle a lot and taking care of these kids is not easy. Usually, it's the moms who have to be with them all the time. This means only one parent can go to work and that makes things really tough for the family. So their families have to work even harder to make sure they get the right food and support. But sometimes, there is just not enough money or resources. Because of all this, these amazing kids often don't get enough of the good food they need. This makes them feel weak and sick. It's really sad because every child should have enough to eat and grow up healthy.

Kottayam Social Service Society (KSSS) is reaching out to support precious, vulnerable children and adults facing the challenges of deafblindness, alongside their families. These young souls, struggling with both sight and hearing impairments are embraced by KSSS, offering not just education but a lifeline of rehabilitation services. These children with poor health conditions may not be able to receive proper education. Through this campaign we aim to raise Rs. 15,60,000 and advance the lives of at least 130 deafblind children under the age 14 from economically backward families residing at remote villages in Kerala. KSSS will provide them with dietary supplements that are rich in nutrients such as cereals, pulses, milk powder, horlicks, protein powder, eggs, oats, rage etc as per their requirement to keep them healthy for one year. Distribution is done once in every month. This nutritional care is not just rations; it's a lifeline, a promise to nurture their fragile health.
