Once a year, for Learning Companions!

Bharwads, a nomadic community is always on the move, in search of the fodder for their cows. As a result most children do not access to education. In year 2020, we found there was below 10% literacy among children in Bharwad community around Nagpur. In last 6 years, we have experimented, learned and showed that it can change. Today more 70% children at 5 Bharwad hamlets are able to read, write and pursuing further education.

Yes—2,000 friends, only once a year! For our heroes doing this beautiful, meaningful work, it is essential that they receive timely and dignified financial support to take care of their own needs. Importantly this need of Learning Companions is not very large. If, once a year, only about 2,000 friends contribute, each according to their capacity, 30–50% of Learning Companions’ annual funds can be raised, giving the organisation long-term stability.

Through these small contributions, we can become guardian angels of this valuable work. These beautiful stories of Learning Companions will become OUR stories—something we can proudly share with our friends and families.

घुमंतू भरवाड समुदाय गाईंसाठी चाऱ्याच्या शोधात सातत्याने फिरत असतो. त्यामुळे समूहातील बहुतेक मुले शिक्षणापासून वंचित राहतात. २०२० एका अभ्यासात आम्हाला दिसून आले की नागपूर जिल्ह्यात वसलेल्या भरवाड वस्त्यांमध्ये शाळकरी वयातील १०% कमी मुलांना लिहिता वाचता येते. मागील ६ वर्षात आम्ही भरपूर प्रयोग केले, शिकलो आणि हे दाखवून देऊ शकलो की ही परिस्थती बदलणे शक्य आहे. आज ५ भरवाड वस्त्यांमधील ७०% पेक्षा जास्त मुले वाचत-लिहीत आहेत आणि आत्मविश्वासाने पुढील शिक्षण घेत आहेत.

Yes, फक्त २००० मित्र, वर्षातून फक्त एक वेळा! इतकं सुंदर, मोलाचं काम करत असलेल्या आपल्या हिरोंसाठी महत्वाचं आहे की त्यांची स्वतःची काळजी घेण्यासाठी पुरेसे पैसे वेळेवर आणि सन्मानाने मिळावे. आणि लर्निंग कंपॅनिअन्सची ही गरज मोठी नाही. दरवर्षी, वर्षातून फक्त एकदा २००० मित्रांनी आपापल्या शक्तीप्रमाणे योगदान दिले तर लर्निंग कंपॅनिअन्स चा ३०-५०% वार्षिक निधी जमा होऊ शकतो आणि संस्थेला कायमचे स्थैर्य येऊ शकते.
